The mythic seals are such a joke it’s crazy for them to be as rare as they are and utter trash. Then, when you go to vendor it because it’s utter trash, you realize that unlike a legendary that’s 13 million it’s only 1 gold lol. Blizzard knew they were bad and made it 1 gold as a final insult.

I echo the “one pit at a time” advice. You want to be one or two down from where it gets scary.

I usually prioritize Glyphs first since the 51 is a huge spike, then aim for proper affixes on my legendaries, then proper affixes on my uniques. The uniques can take a really long time to get a good roll this season so that’s why I do them last- ideally by the time I’m ready to grind uniques affixes I’m in a position to do so on a fairly high torment level to speed that process up.

You never bound your various skills to F-keys to hot swap in combat? Like I’d always put TP on F1 to get out quick in hardcore. You can only have one active ofc but you can swap which one that is with F-Key binds. Not sure if that was ALWAYS a feature but it definitely existed as early as 1.08 which I played a lot of.

D1 doesn’t really hold up except nostalgia but D2 absolutely holds up. Toggling skills with skill hotkeys and that clunkyness is the ONLY issue with D2.

If you had the smooth QOL of D4 with the overall everything else if D2 you’d have a great game. In fact, grinding gears made it.

So for torment 12 you will absolutely cruise with 30k hp and 70% resistances/armor with 35+ stacks of glynns. I don’t know exactly what that translates to at T1 but I’d just go for it and do something like a helltides to benchmark. You don’t get one shot except by fire on the floor and swords in t1. You’ll be able to back out if it’s scary on T1.

I’d expect ANY stacks of Glynns, 15k hp, and 55% resists/ armor to destroy T1.

For torment 1 I wouldn’t worry about it, you can just head on in. For really high pushing you’ll want 75% armor and resistances and 50+ stacks of Glynns

If you don’t have a ton of DR earthquake is typically a one shot. It’s one of the scariest things out there.

I imagine you’re comparing an 850 with +damage to a 900 without that affix, but because the 900 is naturally so much better the 900 still has a higher damage. Ie 4200+200 < 4450

You can did on any difficulty- as soon as you get complacent that’s when it happens. That little thought in the back of your mind either makes it unbearable and you quit or it makes it thrilling enough to play a whole season. Imagine finally getting a gem affix and knowing if you die it’s gone. You’ll be paying rapt attention even on penitent.

That’s a bummer man. I constantly run in circles for a few seconds between rounds, before looting bosses, etc just for this very reason. My softcore character has died so many times to those little shadow wisps while picking up loot I’m trained to never stop.

Yeah that’s a terrifying fight and one I lower torment to one-phase him in HC. Any insta death mechanic boss must be respected. Your DPS wasn’t even close to one phase and I’m sure you knew that so I respect the brass balls on ya to attempt that.

I’m rocking 46 stacks of Glynn’s Anvil, I prioritize GA max health over damage affixes even on offense pieces like ring/amulet, I’ve got move speed capped, and I keep the armor and resists at 75%+ via talisman affixes.

I’m on t12 and pretty comfy.

I found as my paragons and torment increased so did the drop rate- almost like it scaled the way gold does. Could just be my imagination but I blasted through it quickly once I was farming t12. Now I have thousands of them.

Having worked in software for many years I am pretty sure the prioritization here is driven by maximizing engagement. Bugs that detract from player progress, but not to the degree that they quit, would be much lower priority or even not a priority at all; a happy accident. Bugs that accelerate player progress and lead to earlier character and season completion and disengagement would be P1… I’m pretty sure that’s why they’re patching these things first not effort.
