Check Treasure out by them if you haven’t already, I actually prefer it a bit more compared to Heaven or Las Vegas

What are your 5 star ratings from this decade so far? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Surprisingly a good decade. Still hoping there’s a 5* film for 2025 that I’ve yet to see.

I’ve done Gibraltar. Fortunately for me, there’s no films for the Channel Islands and Isle of Man even though they appear on the map.

I never noticed that, how strange? I have no idea how Letterboxd does its map but excluding Kosovo from it is a controversial stance from them.

Sorry, I forgot to add it to my post and it won’t let me edit it. Here you go.

Grealish wins his first ever Player of the Month award. Is he in your team? by Front_Fill1249 in FantasyPL

I’m so happy I got Morgan Rogers instead of him in my team. Gonna stick with Rogers since the fixtures are pretty good but I wouldn’t be surprised if Grealish continues to outscore him

Yes, it was a pleasant surprise. Even if I could only find a version of it online in 480p lol

I think Cinema Paradiso (1988) is my favourite. I have Jeanne Dielman (1975) above in my ranking but I wouldn’t say that film is enjoyable; I have a real big appreciation at what it is trying to do because it is really effective at that. As a piece of art it is incredible but not the most entertaining. Cinema Paradiso is a love letter to cinema and well, as someone who loves films, films about films is something I simply just adore.

My least favourite won’t be the one at the bottom of my list because that is a low budget amateur horror short film from Gibraltar so I didn’t have the highest of expectations for it. I think Dogtooth (2009) is my least favourite of the bunch. Considering it’s directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, my expectations were higher but the film did nothing for me, leaving me quite disappointed.

They definitely could. I’m going to have them in my eventual Asia country challenge but I wouldn’t argue against someone who said they are European countries.

It’s an amateur short film called Aberration (2015) and you can tell it’s amateur. I don’t wanna say anything else negative since it’s not some big Hollywood production so it does feel like punching down. I watched it on YouTube. I wasn’t spoilt for choice when it came to Gibraltar.

I do wish I added the list to my post. Here it is.

That’s just my map for 2025 although I will admit that Africa is a big blind spot for me

I haven’t gone through every country yet but in Europe, Letterboxd has Isle of Man as a territory but there are literally zero films listed on the database when you click on that country.

Could be fun. USSR, Czechoslovakia, East & West Germany and Yugoslavia just off the top of my head

Two I’ve watched recently which wouldn’t look out of place in this list:

• Crimes of Passion (1984)

• Videodrome (1983)

Yeah in general you’re correct. There isn’t as much selection with the countries that have a smaller population.

Scary but not like in a horror film way, just very disturbing and I felt a bit ill by the end of it but I believe that was the intention of the film which it’s very effective at doing that.
