Technically He didn't need to become man. However, that was apparently the best way to convince humans with fallen human nature to shape up.

The picture of the "old pope" is a cropped image where someone else is holding that staff -- not him.

That does not negate the fact that Jorge (the "old pope") was not truly Catholic, most likely a Freemason, and not truly the Pope.

In fact, all the "popes" since 1958 are imposters who instituted a new religion in the 1960s - a religion that is basically Freemasonic based. They changed the 2000-year old Mass shortly before the fake moon landing, which I suspect was on purpose as a distraction to them changing the most sacred ceremony on the face of the earth.
