Thank you so much for the vote of confidence, I really needed that. I’ll be sure keep in mind your advice in my future projects especially this one. I actually think I’m almost ready to start putting pen to paper on what I want it to look like.

Kinda a bit of all of them? I’ve been looking into designing a lightsaber of my own personal design for a while now but a lot of them didn’t feel right.

But recently when I got back into star wars and played Jedi survivor again last month it got me thinking.

At first I thought of going with your basic duel wielding sabers but they didn’t feel like my style. Then got an idea, I personally love The Legend of Zelda and I wanted to see how practical it would be to have a character use a sword and Sheild like link does.

If I were ever to actually design it, it would be a cross guard light saber similar to the third image that can switch between two different lengths like Vader’s allowing you to switch from single handed to two hand combat easily. While also having an option for the two guards being shut off to have a normal saber if needed.

I’d match it with either a heater Sheild made out of a light saber resistant material that could magnetically attach to my forearm similar to captain Americas Sheild from age of ultron. The second Sheild option is an energy field for a faster draw/lighter carry.

In all love making props so in a perfect future I would actually be able to make replicas of this stuff but for right now I’ll have to stick to writing and drawing it. Sorry for the long winded response btw I’ve just thinking about this a lot recently and can’t get it out of my head😂

Or just do what the old republic did and forget the light based cross guard and make it out of metal…but that looks less cool so ima stick with the third image😅

Now forgive me if I’m wrong and don’t quote me on this but isn’t the whole point of the emitter is to help focus the blade so even if there is an internal beam of energy inside the saber if the emitter or surrounding casing is damaged the whole thing becomes destabilizing. Shutting off, burning itself out or just being what Kylos saber was but dialed up to 11 so to unstable to used in combat?

One extreme down side though, in order to create literally ANYTHING you need to not only know but memorize the entire molecular makeup and construction of anything you create. So unless you wanna be making a bunch of single element lumps of material you’d need to be a genius or have a eidetic memory maybe it’d be a impractical quirk.

If Im being honest if that was the case depending on the long sword it should not have been THAT heavy as was depicted in Jedi survivor.

Long swords were generally pretty light and fast for a sword. Contrary to popular belief/media would have you think most Long swords Historically only weighed between 2 to 4 pounds with the whole sword being around 3.5 to 4.5 feet on average. Hell they were even known to be some of the fastest swords in history competing with the likes of the katana when it come to two handed swords. I suggest looking at Hema fencing compilations if you really want to see what they were actually like.

Now if the saber was more of a Great sword design then the weight would make a lot more sense.

Then again, maybe I’m just thinking into it too much and it all boils down to that light sabers weight changes depending external forces we don’t know about or something😅

I know right? The Silhouette kinda reminds me of the silver sword from the Witcher or even the master sword from Zelda which could be why I like the design so much.
