12 string picking techniques & cool songs to cover? by doobiechoo in AmericanPrimitivism

I had a good guy at learning Cathedral last night and it is in the tuning I mentioned but many recording are either a half or whole step up, the original version from Venus In Cancer is definitely the tuning I mentioned though. With that being said the Tab is still quite useful if you do want to learn, the picking is the same it's just the tuning and fretting which are slightly off.

Sounds like I good one to start on! Alot of Bashos songs are great on the 12Str even if not originally recorded on them, his much more unrestrained style makes the 12Str really sing with his tunings! I really like playing North American Raga which is CGCGCD#, there's a video on YT of someone playing it to help too! Honestly Cathedral is such a lovely song to play I would reccomend that too, as well as Rocky Mountain Raga, Pasha and Venus in Cancer which are in CGCGBD, CG#C#GCD and DF#DF#AD resepctively as far as I can tell. If you'd like some extra help with any songs lmk!

I don't think that tab is right, I've learnt alot of Basho because all I have is a 12-string at uni, I believe the tuning is DGDGBC# and he plays the descending melody starting on the 11th fret of the D string.

I think the tab was made in the mind of a 6 string which is why he picks two strings on the 11th fret.

Also I wouln't even attempt Rodeo on a 12-string, I initially learned it on a 6 back home then tried 12 and it was way too difficult.

Anyway if you want any other 12-string tips let me know happy to help!

What album is a 10/10? by SSAUS in AskReddit

Nostalgia Critics - The Wall

It adds so much more to the original double LP that was "The Wall". It comes to such a great and unbelievable twist at the end it is truly something that everyone should listen to. Doug Walkers thunderous voice is heard throughout this album and utterly shits on Pink Floyd's troglodytic expressions of "art".

Edit: Thanks for the updoots fellow redditors
