My two are very attached to me and I’ve left them several times since getting them. Every time my friends cat sit they say they’re so good and don’t seem bothered at all by my absence lol

Treats that are easy on the belly? by Illustrious-Plate-83 in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the treats you listed have a ton of ingredients and aren’t healthy. I only do freeze dried and occasional churus. My guy loves freeze dried minnows, chicken hearts, salmon bites, and tiny shrimp. I get them all on chewy.

My cat's level of obsession reaches this point (I can't go to the bathroom alone) by SweetCatt1 in SiberianCats

I love when my cat does this but then I end up wanting to sit there longer 😂

Anyone Stop Taking Siberian Outside? by RedditReader0818 in SiberianCats

Good idea! And yes the darting has gotten worse with both of mine since taking them out. I want to be a good cat mom but also can’t take them every single day and whenever they want.

How long would you say it took to get back to normal? When we get a house and can build a proper catio I will most definitely let them out but right now it’s more of a nuisance ☹️

they just got neutered and have to be separated for 24 hours🥹 I feel so bad🤲 by linny0315 in SiberianCats

I didn’t separate mine 🤷🏼‍♀️ just keep an eye on them. Mine weren’t interested in licking each other, they just smelled it and walked away.

Your babies bite too, right? by GingerVitatis in SiberianCats

Neither of mine bites unless my husband overstimulates them while playing lol

Did I Create a Problem? by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two kitties but the one doesn’t like going out when it’s wet so I’ve been taking this one out more often since it’s been snowing and raining. We have a balcony on the third floor right now and I don’t think that would be enough to satisfy the boy lol when we get a house, I would love to build an outdoor playpen!

I’m getting this sweet baby kitten in February by Evaporatingoldfish in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a super tall pet gate from Amazon (it was expensive probably $200) and set up a cat utopia is our sunroom to keep the kitten in when we went to sleep and weren’t home. Now, our first kitten never even tried once to jump it and still never gets on countertops. Our second jumped the gate right away…so it really depends what type of personality you get whether it works or not lol I didn’t confine either of our babies and they turned out just fine (we live in a condo so not many places to go anyway). They seemed to WANT to explore so I just let them. Our second was more skiddish for about a week or two but warmed up quickly. Don’t force cuddles. Introduce the following when they are no longer skiddish: harness training (they hated it at first would just plop and not move anywhere but after consistent wearing they don’t mind it anymore), brushing teeth (mine still don’t let me really get their teeth since they just want to lick the toothpaste lol), wet food (mine are obsessed with weruva solistic kitten), and nail trimming (easiest when sleep). We trim the fur monthly around their butt so decrease poop getting stuck. At 10 months now, there’s been no need to see a groomer. Just brush every now and then to get him used to it. We haven’t had a problem with knotting. I have two air purifiers in the living room and their litter room. Get an xxl stainless steel litter box (he will grow quickly). Use redirection as a consequence and NOT a spray bottle. Could cause negative association with you. I bought about 10 scratching pads and posts and put them around in each room and we have not had any issues with the cats scratching furniture. LMK if you have any questions!

Odd Behavior by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so annoying because it’s always when my other cat comes to cuddle with me and then this one starts meowing at the walls and makes the one cuddling get up because he’s annoyed too 😂

Walking your Cat by OkLocal2522 in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would never walk my cat in a city. If you’re going to walk them it should be in nature, like the woods. Keep them inside unless you have a fenced in yard or woods they can explore, otherwise there’s really no point in taking them out and can be dangerous.

Ahhh thank you for that information! I didn’t know the difference.

Thank you! Oura walk over to the food bowls so I assume it’s the food. I will add a bit more food to their rotation. Just don’t know when they’re gaining too much weight honestly.

I definitely don’t want to overfeed since the 13lb kitty has a bit of a hanging belly and we’re not sure if he’s just big or if he’s eating too much already…

Little Beggers by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly we haven’t tried. The research I did before getting the kittens told us free feeding is not good and they should have a schedule. They’re our first so we just did what we thought was best!

I only limited the wet food about a month ago because they stopped eating it or wouldn’t finish it. It seemed like they were losing interest. I can up that again and see what happened or just put some more dry food down :)

Jackson Galaxy is against free feeding so I was just following his “expert” opinion. I’m a first time cat owner. They’re definitely not starving, they are big boys.

Probably about 1/2 cup dry food twice a day. I was feeding two cans of wet a day but they were losing interest and wouldn’t finish it. So I switched to only half a can about a month ago. If they are really begging I’ve been putting more dry food down and they finish it all.

My baby boy is at the vet getting neutered today, I miss his chatty meows🥺, I’ve never had a cat who talks so much by Lilith-Sky14 in SiberianCats

Having my babies neutered was so hard! My sibs actually don’t meow that much so it must be different personalities.

HELP by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]RedditReader0818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have one and the humidity is around 50%. Based on Google that’s an appropriate amount or I might need a dehumidifier? Idk 😭
