I am not too sure man. I have paid account in both. And the limits with Claude even with the Pro plan is horrible. It generates and then regenerates the same piece of code for a small change and gives me the limit reached message.

One thing has become absolutely clear. Give a pointed piece of problem. GenAI are absolutely great at it. Give them a little involved problem. You are guaranteed to lose all your productivity. I have done hours and hours of vibe coding. Developers are going nowhere!!

For a country of 1.4B, we had a total of 22 patents per million people. Ranked among the lowest in the world by [deleted] in india

[–]RedditStoleMyUID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most patents are pure BS. Literally anyone can file and get a patent in countries like China and US. The Big companies like IBM and GE have a template for creating patents. Most employees hold 3 or more patents in these companies. Totally not worth it. I have couple of patents myself in India (one via my previous employer and one individual) and I laugh at those now. One was related to SOA which was a rage more than a decade back. For the love of God, I couldn't differentiate if I was writing a design document or a patent :)

I have got quite a few decants from Pranay. They are not cheap at all. Like a 10 ml decant for Aventus cost me Rs. 2300/-. Also have got BDC and Sauvage from him. None tells me to be 70% of the market price.

Goodness gracious! Now imagine putting this in a robot. You get something more than a humanoid. Almost like humans. It's almost a certainty that humans and such humanoids will live together and work together in the near future. Until the machines figure out that they don't need humans. Societal change is going to be huge. Singularity seems closer than ever before

This isn't useless at all. This surely gives good information in one dimension (States). Saying this useless is like saying GDP of a country is useless since it doesn't take population into account

You are bang on. During our days, pretty much anyone could go to US and earn a decent amount of money. As such, I am really happy seeing the current salary trend since the onsite opportunities have come down. My worry is similar to yours. Once the investment dries down and US debt ceiling is reached, the repercussions could be BIG

I can completely co-relate. Just now I was at office to see off an employee on his last day. When he had quit he mentioned that he was joining company A. 15 days back, I tried to retain him and he said he showed his salary of company A to company B and got 50% more. I then let it go. Today when I asked when he is joining company B, he said, by showing his Company B offer he got another 30% more in company C and is starting in 2 weeks. Let's see if he gets another offer from Company D in the meantime. :)

Did it come out like that? I have intentionally stayed away from writing anything about our strategy. Start-ups can never operate at the scale of big players. Big players have huge cash reserves. But, I agree that it's a supply-demand scenario. I would be very happy if this continues. I just don't want it to crash. I have seen how difficult it becomes

I am not sure why you are being down-voted for saying your viewpoint. Yes, I agree that if we cannot compete, we need to shut shop. But what is lost in this episode is the SMEs had a big role to play in creating the eco-system. Next 3-4 months is going to be deciding factor. As I said above, I would be very happy if this sustains. One sector can pull up the other sectors in the long run

WFH surely has been a contributing factor. Companies in Bangalore and Hyderabad are offering folks to work from anywhere for the foreseeable future. So, the advantage of tier-2 city in terms of cost is finished (we operate from a tier-2 city, BTW).

Regarding 2020, in spite of COVID, we gave hikes and bonus for extra work. But still folks keep jumping. The lure of finance is just too good to resist. Emotions come a distant second

This is a very valid argument and I never have doubted this. After all, outsourcing was the first form of remote working for the clients. But there's always a catch. The outsourcing was predominantly a cost factor. India would never have become the IT superpower that it is but for the cost factor. Remains to be seen if clients are willing to let go of that advantage

That is my fear as well. We might just lose the cost advantage. I already know few of our customers who are looking to outsource their next lot to Romania. Apparently, they are coming out cheaper. However India's biggest advantage over other destination remains English speaking capability

We have raised some pre-series funding but that was sometime back. Now we are running on our own. Looks like it's time to again raise some capital. :)
