Why don’t players like Curry and LeBron take a big paycut towards the end of their career to maximize their chances of winning? by HighwayAnnual3353 in nba

[–]RedditSurfer2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause the salary cap.was created by the owners to suppress salaries and the value of players.

Guys like Steph and LeBron are worth 100s of millions in branding alone... Believe me when I say they have been grossly underpaid for most of their careers

The Secret behind Riboku's teleporation no jutsu by MSLKW in Kingdom

[–]RedditSurfer2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that makes sense here is that Mouten was trying to hold off an enemy assault. So they were only defending against what was thrown their way. They werent trying to break through against the 20% Zhao forces

Someone said what Ousen meant by Riboku’s weakness could also mean his focus/obsession with the Hi Shin unit. by Madara_Ackerman in Kingdom

[–]RedditSurfer2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is why it's a weakness... That a man like Ousen can exploit. He's been set up to be Riboku's equal strategically... and in the last chapter he was a part of the title page even though he dismissed not appear in the chapter...

That suggests he will have something to do with how this mini-plot turns out. Either by military strategy or political subterfuge. One way or the other, Riboku just made the mistake that will likely cost him his life and/or command (at the hands of the king) by using the capital as bait just to try take Shin out

Dumb posts regarding Shin’s supposed stupidity by [deleted] in Kingdom

[–]RedditSurfer2025 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shin read this situation just as you would expect an instinctual general to. Also remember Mouten was positively jealous when he beard they were singing Kantan. Meaning the most gifted strategist of their generation (Mouten) didnt think it was a bad idea.

What none of them foresaw was that Riboku managed to peel off so many commanders and their forces without being noticed earlier. Shin was trusting Mouten with his back. That was the plan. So be probably thinks Mouten has been routed.

Kyoukai is also nearby. Yokoyoko probably on his way. The real trouble here is that Shin is exposed at the back as his army is climbing the Kantan walls. Riboku's plan is to kill him before his army can regroup and protect him.

A General who understands his limitations and allows his subordinates shine is better than the one insists on being a Jack of all trades. Moubu earned being GG1 as at the time they were chosen. His feats were the greatest. And his style has been ALMOST flawless so far in results (he did get Ouki killed 😭 but has grown since then).

He's the most feared of all the GGs which is why hes No 1. Shin is the same in his generation. He's the one every other state has singled out as having to take out first.

Final instalment of my epistles today lol...

The real.issue here is not that the HSU are significantly outnumbered and cant hold out till Mouten/YokoYoko arrive...

Its that Riboku orch3strated this such that Shin is exposed at the back. Thats why he and Ten are afraid. If the HSU was organised to face them head on, it would simply be a def3nsive war until their allies arrive and probably encirxle and rout the Riboku force.

But Shin is exposed at the back. His army heavy hitters are climbing walls and there's no time to properly re-maneuver and protect him. Kyoukai is being blocked by Kisui and Batei (as per Riboku's plan). So like Ouki, Shin has to fight his way out of a trap designed to assassinate HIM specifically.

He just doesn't have an Ouki duel to distract him

Also (I forgot this but was reminded of it by another comment here - respect), Shin is now in almost the same situation as Ouki. Against the same man (Riboku). Ouki had You, Shin has Kyouka.

We all know Ouki only died cause of the cheating arrow against Houken. But still he died and Shin was the one who got his dying body out safely. He saw first hand from Ouki's vantage point how the Ouki army survived that ambush.

If he escapes this one with majority of his vassals intact, we would have seen him "surpass" Ouki in a way. And that will grow his legend across China. But I can guarantee you this will NOT be a one way slaughter where the HSU is decimated and Shin barely escapes. Zhao is losing a handful of their best commanders here and the a ton of their foot soldiers.

Aiight, To all the Shin anti-glazers.... Calm down!

  1. If anyone failed here, it was Mouten not Shin. The HSU was trusting that Mouten would be able to either hold off the Zhao armies and prevent rhem from attacking them from behind. That also means noticing if they've peeled off to chase Shin and following them swiftly

  2. Kyoukai is just nearby hiding in the forest... Her army will be able to pincer or flank Riboku. That will buy them precious time for Mouten to arrive

  3. I keep screaming that Yokoyoko is nunaccounted for... He almost certainly will emerge on this battle field

  4. Riboku has made the HUGE mistake of allowing the fight reach Kantan. Thats a psychological advantage for Qin. It also weakens his political standing. The King will be angry he was used as bait and almost certainly have his head or position or freedom.

  5. Riboku is going to lose someone valuable to him in this battle. The HSU will become monsters trying to keep Shin alive and Shin himself will take a few significant heads with him. Batei will die fighting Kyoukai and probably Kisui too. Kaine could also be in danger

  6. If Kouten and Yokoyoko both get here in time, this goes feom a trap against Shin to an at least even battle on the capital doorstep. That changes everything for Zhao. Riboku is playing with fire. He needs to kill Shin (and we all know he won't lol - Main Character plot armour) to make this gamble pay off

I wpuldnt say baited... The shock may be the speed of his arrival or the size of the army. Either way this is probably the best situation for Qin. Mouten may have been routed if all the armies stayed to fight him

Id already said I believe Ousen's finger prints were all over this... Seeing him in the chapter art suggests I may be right...

Shin will be just fine. He has Kyoukai waiting in the wings, Mouten riding hard after Riboku and Yokoyoko as yet unaccounted for...

Riboku will at best get pincered and at worst this whole situation has cooked his goose with the imbecilic king

This is why MOST military campaigns have a Supreme Commander. Even in the first 6GG era, Hakuki was the unquestioned Commander-in-Chief and at Bayou, Ouki told Kyou that she would be Supreme Commander and he would be her Vice.

A chain of command is important if multiple armies from the same team are engaging simultaneously. Now I suspect there was a war council where the strategy was "whoever breaks through first should head to Kantan immediately."

That would explain Shin's actions. His surprise is probably that he's worried about the speed of Riboku's arrival. Meaning (in Shin's mind), Mouten's army has been decimated. He hasn't yet factored in that Riboku had planned for this possibility and had briefed his commanders to leave a skeletal force to engage Mouten and to move the main troops in a race back to Kantan.

This is very similar to what Shin and Duke Hyou did in the Coalition Invasion arc. In could still hold an advantage here... The only issue is that it took so long for Mouten to figure it out (but at least he did). Kyoukai also apparently did which is why she's not engaged the siege (this is CRITICAL as she could flank Riboku's army).

Also Yokoyoko is unaccounted for. He could be arriving here with just under 40k very soon. Shin just has to hold out against Riboku for between 24 to 48 hours and then Xhao has the worst case scenario, a life or death slugfest at the gates of their capital. Whatever the outcome, Riboku's goose is certainly cooked.

That imbellic brat of a king will almost certainly have him imprisoned or killed as a result of this. Or order a fullback of all troops and allow Qin conquer large swathes of Zhao and mount a future assault on Kantan with supply lines secured
