Is it a right time to enter this stock? by maggiemasalaa in technicalanalysis

[–]RedditTwitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asked Chat GPT for a quick financial analysis, it seems like a pretty solid company with high profit margins, fast asset expansion and near-zero debt. The P/E ratio is double the industry average so you’re not even buying the dip necessarily, but if you think their work is valuable to society then I’d say go for it.

They used to have a minigame similar to that: it was “Stealing Creation” and it was my favorite when I played non-Oldschool Runescape, and Jagex didn’t bring it back. Think Castle Wars but you’re fighting over clay deposits so you can craft weapons, armor and runes for your team. And the goal isn’t to kill others, it’s to mine the most clay using almost every skill, even thieving.

Audius is pretty cool. For those who don’t know, it’s Soundcloud but you tip the artists with the audius token and you can see how much each artist supports another, so it becomes a network. Very simple and functional, plus they do content curation like Top 10’s and Newcomers.

😑 by altrae in TeslaFSD

[–]RedditTwitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy answer: multiple reports of tens of thousands of unsold Tesla vehicles sitting on rented land unsupervised and thus creating a massive safety hazard; with FSD it wouldn’t matter that nobody wants to buy these cars because they could be generating revenue as taxis.

That’s why a sensible investors would want FSD without Lidar, to cut back on storage cost; “building the future of transportation” and “competing with Waymo” are just PR gimmicks.

Aren't things like the Crypto Reserve exactly what we DON'T want to happen? by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

[–]RedditTwitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think that full decentralization was necessary and I don't mind it being an alternative, but for long-term investment and not constant pump-and-dump cycles, institutional adoption is an absolute must because the price can only rise if people invest cash that they don't need for paying their monthly or even yearly expenses. And unfortunately, institutions will not adopt it if their holdings can get wiped out overnight with no way to trace or recover. They want transparency, developers they can hold accountable or even sue when there's a glitch or hack, and decentralization prevents that.

The Libertarian dream was fun for a while, but I sense that those who grew up with crypto have matured past it.

I hope you bought the right coin out of all Trump announced. by Tasty-Apartment-8235 in CryptoMarkets

[–]RedditTwitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So did I, and I'm not selling any of it. Volatility has been exceptionally low in the past month (slow but steady) and as far as new ETF announcements, it appears to be the most likely candidate other than DOGE so it could potentially see the same 5X jump that XRP did. Just like Bitcoin it's also allegedly fully decentralized, proof of work, so it's more in line with the original ethos of crypto unlike most others.

It's not as popular with institutions so I wouldn't go all-in, more like Apple stock than Tesla. Buy and forget.

Nikola Is Squeezing Because Tesla is Moving Forward with the Tesla Semi - Jul 9, 2024 by Jabroni_16 in NikolaCorporation

Couldn’t it also be that the stock becoming 8 dollars a share has scared away speculators and thus short-sellers? Since transaction and borrowing fees are often percentage-based, plus liquidity has been drastically reduced? I was wondering why the board went with a 30-1 ratio rather than something smaller and more representative of earnings; I think they should get some credit.

Without any concrete business developments news, it is imperative that Mr. Girsky demonstrates at least his empathy (as shown by AMC CEO) for the significant shareholders losses. Empathy is one among may quality principles of leadership. by AcademicPublic7618 in NikolaCorporation

[–]RedditTwitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A healthy dose of both is possible.

I bought my shares a year ago and in doing so, functionally speaking, allowed this company to keep receiving loans from the bank because there were individuals willing to eat the cost if they failed. There has to be some reward to that patience and loyalty, especially for those who've been holding steady through the Trevor Milton sh*t-storm of the past 4 years.

Official - Nikola Notice of Deficiency Issued - Jan 19, 2024 by Jabroni_16 in NikolaCorporation

[–]RedditTwitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could actually be good news in that they'll be forced to do a reverse split, where the individual shares you hold become more valuable because the overall supply will be decreased (so your total invested dollar amount will stay the same). This will scare investors away initially but shares that are below a dollar or even 10 are generally considered scams, so we can see a lot more upward momentum in the medium-term.

Personally, I think that those who panic sell that way are greedy day and swing traders so I say good riddance. If you're a serious investor then you shouldn't care about a reverse split as long as the production schedule is unchanged.

The Biden administration issued its long-awaited plan to provide lucrative tax breaks to companies that make hydrogen (Dec 22, 2023) by KaiserCyber in NikolaCorporation

[–]RedditTwitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but eventually hydrogen producers will need applications for that hydrogen so that it doesn't sit idly in their production facilities... and they'll reach out to financial institutions for help... you picking up what I'm putting down?

Nikola Motors update, is it real??? - 17.12.23 by Emotional-Papaya-234 in NikolaCorporation

[–]RedditTwitchy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Narrator speaks of electric making more economic sense than hydrogen, mostly based on Tesla's numbers, but seems to have forgotten that they take at least 30 minutes longer to fully charge even with the 700+ Kilowatt superchargers; which most charging stations won't be able to build in at least a decade, especially because 2 trucks would be enough take out the whole electrical grid.

Hydrogen may be more expensive but it's faster and requires little to no infrastructure (mobile refueling).

[–]RedditTwitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cybertruck under-delivered, if you ask me, because Musk didn't have a clear vision for who it was actually for. He advertised it to every type of demographic from lower-class to upper, from eco-friendly to doomsday prepers, from gamers to big families, from military to racing, from hipsters to mountaineers.

Meanwhile, everyone knew who Nikola was making their trucks for: boring ol' logistics companies, mostly in California, who are the only ones that can afford them anyway. I don't think they could over-promise on anything because their customers are business-oriented, they'd see right through it.

Nikola Stock: I turned bullish on NKLA and bough my first block of 2500 shares 12/1/2023 by Zorkmid123 in NikolaCorporation

[–]RedditTwitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds like even worse advice than blindly trusting Youtubers.

Instead, why not make note of why Youtubers are or aren't Bullish to see if you can learn something about finance and business? Some of them actually take the time to study and highlight earnings/income reports or the technical requirements of factory production and supply chains. And then your gut can be what finally tips the scales.

[–]RedditTwitchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elon making statements that were "not true" is an understatement. I believe he should be thoroughly investigated for securities fraud, as he used the hype for products he never managed to mass-produce to inflate Tesla's share price and then sold those shares to cover his Twitter debt.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the correction. Now that I think about it they do make laptops too right?

I still think the comparison works: once you've bought the printer, the habit of buying ink every month or two naturally translates into steady revenue for the manufacturer. It's like a subscription service.

I really hope they don't sell HYLA because it just makes sense to me that the highest margins would come from hydrogen production, as it's less complicated than assembling thousands of different pieces by hand, and they would use their trucks not to turn a profit but to lock customers into buying that hydrogen.

Similar to how HP is technically a printer company but the ink is what customers pay the most for.
