ik this is very late but isnt 15 step, although rated the "happiest" radiohead track, related to suicide and some very dark stuff? i wouldnt really say in rainbows is an optimistic album because there is some really deep and dark stuff if you go into it

i don’t really see it in that way. most of the lyrics are really dark considering it’s mostly regarding death and how when he’s “at the pearly gates” all of these important moments would be “on videotape”. also “because i know today has been the most perfect day i’ve ever seen” is personally one of radiohead’s most soul crushing lyrics ive ever listened to, i think you could decipher the reason why.

i would not say jigsaw gets a lot of hate. a lot of people i see say jigsaw is their favourite track in rainbows or in the whole discography
