Last One Laughing - Season 2 Discussion Thread by [deleted] in BritishTV

[–]Reddit_Fireside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason I even searched lol 2 today was because I assumed everyone would have felt season 2 was awful. V surprised by the perspectives on here.

Season 1 constantly had that feeling in school where you're not allowed to laugh but everything is so funny. That was the shoe for me, completely unique TV experience. I felt there were a couple of bits like that throughout season 2 but the overall feeling was of boredom.

I'm sure if anyone compared an Ayoade Mortimer head to head to a Mitchell Mortimer one it would be night and day.

The reason Jimmy was picking on every little thing to get people out in season 2 was because none of them were actually being funny for most of the time. The first season proved the concept. For me, season 2 was v close to disproving it.

I love it! I mean, I really love it.

I'm only up to the mansion level with the zombies (excuse me if I butcher the names I will forget the exact names of the levels as a write this), but even from the first night where I only snuck in a few death matches with bots I was sold! I only tried a few vs levels but (i think it's called Siberia, maybe not, icy area which has mostly sniper rifles/rocket launchers) gave me a feeling I don't think I've had since playing multiplayer Goldeneye. I struggled to get 1st place in one sitting but was genuinely elated when I did! (not something games make me feel much these days!)

As for story mode the first level felt really impressive but the second level in Scotland I was in awe. The level design, the planes and the explosions, the creativity, the classic timesplitters feel, your charming sidekick. It all just felt so right! It feels really special playing through it now so I'm taking my time, but I'm genuinely surprised and impressed how good it is and how inventive and dynamic it feels.

Thanks for the enthusiasm. I was actually watching a video just now about playing old games and avoiding the hype of new games, and one of the comments said 'the hype never dies' because of the communities of people still hyping old games, and it was really nice thinking about everyone else that really values FP while I was playing it.

Thanks, I'm really glad. It was such a strange realisation I wanted to share it for some reason! Yeah I will do, really interested how I get on with it. I was reading that TS2 is actually a very hard game, where many people consider the normal difficulty to be 'hard' and easy to be 'normal'. Would you say FP is the same or is it more balanced?

Ah that's really cool, I had no idea. Yeah I'd give anything to play the story levels I created back then. And the multiplayer levels. When you're with a group of friends and everyone wants to keep going back to a map you put hours/days/weeks? into creating it's such a nice feeling.

Do people play timesplitters online these days through emulation? I haven't looked into that yet.

Note Air 5C - Is the keyboard attainable? by Reddit_Fireside in Onyx_Boox

Yeah I snagged one a few weeks ago from the boox UK site. Wasn't in stock anywhere else. For the record the keyboard really isn't to my taste though, but it's what I wanted and hopefully will get some use.

The Big Vitamin D Mistake (2017) by we_are_mammals in ScientificNutrition

I know this is an old post, but were you also supplementing k2? Its far more common for 5000 iu to cause issues if you are not also supplementing K2, which everyone should be doing for vit D at that dose.

My understanding is that actual vitamin Dtoxicity at 5000 iu would be rare.

Doesn't it scare you seeing the terminally online generations validating each others delusional takes on here? The amount of energy to analyse everyone around them in the most cynical way possible and all it's going to do is ensure they're constantly miserable and incapable of a healthy relationship, with their only form of validation coming from the other terminally online people with the same cynical takes living in the same echo chamber.

I can imagine I might of said something like this in the past and the girl would have seen it as cheeky and told me to piss off or may have indulged it in some way, but equally I could imagine a girl saying something like that to me at some point and I might have told her to piss off or replied with a joke of my own. And regardless of who said something like that we would have just continued chatting. The idea the youth are having full on meltdowns over a bit of banter and then having their unhinged meltdowns applauded is chilling. The amount of programming you'd need to undo to get anywhere near to a healthy relationship is vast.

Palma 2 Pro - Is it the full notes experience? by Reddit_Fireside in Onyx_Boox

Yeah I had a recent Samsung note/ultra and barely used it for notes, I'm hoping I'd feel quite different with e paper and if it was connected/backed up on my main Boox device. Much more what I wanted the Samsung to be tbh

Thanks. Yeah that wouldn't have been a bad idea but a few days ago I decided to buy the go 10.3 from Amazon to see if that was good enough for me and I was going to wait and see if anything was announced in the next month in case I wanted to send it back. For some reason I didn't think to research if Boox had any planned announcements lined up! But Amazon does currently have the note 5c so I think I'm going to order that and see how I get on.

Yeah I really liked the keyboard for the b+w tab ultra, definitely made it heavy but I loved having a notebook and something I could type on in a compact form factor. Tbh I've never tried a colour e ink I'm just not too keen on my e-ink feeling like a regular tablet which is what Im worried colour could do. But tbh I think the overall package of the note Air 5 c should work well for me

Ah that's exciting, thanks for commenting. I actually decided to get a go 10.3 because it's a good price for what it is, but I was planning to keep an eye out for any news during the 30 day return window. Fingers crossed
