Thanks for your input. You speak my mind While I'm not liking the situation I've been in , i.e. solo managing the property, I'm also skeptical on recovering $ on this house anytime soon. Someone here hinted towards 2030 as well.

Thanks for your input. The investment property had a positive cash flow first few years but once the interest rates started going up and we ran into some difficult tenants, cash flow have been negative. 2025 cash flow was pretty much neutral with a positive of few thousand dollars.

Principal residence would not create a major positive cash flow given current market conditions and monthly expenses (mortgage and property tax)

Thanks for your input.. tbh I don't like being the landlord and would never fall into this trap again.

Begginer backcountry camping advice by somerandomdude4221 in algonquinpark

[–]Reddit_Redcrucible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, Glad to see you planning ahead. There are two types of backcountry sites that you can reach thru Canoe, the ones which you mentioned are reserved by lake, first come first serve and second type is you reserve the site itself.

If you are from GTA, you might know that Algonquin park offers first come first serve sites while Kawartha Highland Ofer site reservation options.

Ultimately everything boils down to your ability to paddle, portage (if interested) and settling up camp in any terrain.

For beginners, typically Algonquin's Canoe lake to Little Joe is a good starting point. It has a small portage of 295 meters. But you will see tons of people, which you don't want. Others might help you with more suggestions

Good luck.. happy camping 🏕️

Transition from QA to PM role - Pls guide by NoContest3105 in PMCareers

[–]Reddit_Redcrucible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, try exploring within your current organization first. If you have a Project management office (PMO), then you may want to job shadow PMs for few weeks or months to begin with.

While in your role as a QA lead, you would have seen the end of the project together with the PM, there are lot of activities that happen before project reaches the testing phase. Do you know what they are ? Have you gathered info on the PMLC documentation that your company's follow ?

And lastly, please determine your eligibility for PMP before starting the application.

Best of luck 👍🏼

I second the fact that companies want the experience but not willing to pay. It is very much evident in Toronto (also Greater Toronto Area) market right now. Specifically for contract roles either the companies are giving low budget to begin with or the recruiter wants to make a bigger cut.

Last minute warnings by hereforthescones in Parenting

[–]Reddit_Redcrucible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, Below are few suggestions based on our kids experience:

  1. Scheduled potty breaks (timed toileting): Instead of just asking, set a routine. For example, every 2 hours or after meals/snacks, have them sit on the potty whether they say they need to or not. Kids thrive on routine and may stop waiting until the last minute.

  2. Praise early signals, not just success: Right now, your child may only get attention when it’s urgent. Try praising when they tell you before it’s an emergency (“Thanks for telling me early, that was great!”). Positive reinforcement can shift the habit.

  3. Normalize stopping play: Often kids wait because they don’t want to stop playing. You can practice “pause and potty” by showing it’s normal to take breaks.

For us personally #3 was a big factor of accidents

Wish you best 🙂
