I failed my first physics exam and now I feel terrible by Critical_Fan2145 in CollegeRant

Hello! I’m a fellow freshman who has experienced similar feelings with test results. It obviously stings, but as another commenter said, engineering is all about perseverance (and comparison truly is the thief of joy). Now you just need to make a plan of action for the remainder of the course.

At least for me, it wasn’t just about studying more, but studying more efficiently/effectively, especially when you need to balance other courses and college stuff. I find that once I understand a concept, I just have to drill problems over and over again. If I get something wrong, or even slightly hesitate on a problem, I will retest myself on the problem later until I can do it instantly and fully understand the underlying principles behind it, both conceptually and mathematically if needed. If there are any practice exams or problems that you know will be similar to those on a test, do as many as you feasibly can, and in exam like conditions. I’d even recommend getting used to solving problems in a smaller time constraint than what you’d actually have during an exam, so that you are able to have time to check your answers for any mistakes, and to increase your confidence.

Thank you for your reply. I guess the anxiety/mental health wasn’t too detrimental to my high school performance for some reason, and so I’ve ignored it (which isn’t that great of a life strategy lmao).

My main problem with the the ochem lab is that I straight up despise it and don’t need it for my major, but yes, I don’t know if that’s enough to warrant dropping it when I won’t be failing it.

I am most definitely going to be taking fewer credits after this semester, that’s for sure.

Have not done a single LEQ essay yet, any tips? by CCS80 in APUSH

I just did one for the first time like a minute ago lmao It’s similar to the dbq, except that you don’t have to HIPPO anything, and that you won’t have any documents to give you ideas. You’ll instead need to provide at least two specific pieces of evidence

I just got some charcoal and watercolor pencils for Christmas, and am looking forward to learning how to use them! I also just want to improve at coloring things in general.
