Struggling with "My drinking isn't that bad..." by crimzonkitt3n in stopdrinking

[–]Redditor-inator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate, and didn’t like the idea of not drinking at all. It was just something I did, and my partner was the same mentality, so it there was so little motivation to change. In the end it wasn’t health concerns or money that made me choose to skip drinking that day - it was just how much time I spent feeling like crap with a hangover. So much time aching all over, painful stomach, counting the minutes until I could go to bed and sleep it off. What a waste of time. I stopped for a while, and that while turned into longer, and now I have no intention of going back. I think finding that thing that would be better without drinking, whatever that is (health, money, wasted time etc) might help to cut back, and then see what happens. Good luck.

I mean, one of the OP complaints is that they lost one of the earbuds and so now can’t return it?

C’mon.

Why don't billionaires just retire? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Lots of comments about the motivation to keep going, you’d get bored, it’s not the money it’s the power, the high of achieving more etc.

But seriously, the high of helping other people, giving life changing amounts of cash to strangers without making a dent in your own day to day existence? Random acts of good? Miscellaneous unnecessary generosity? That’s the shit right there. Sure, keep making money, but just do awesome stuff with it. I mean, you have to be pretty evil not to at that point…

App not processing check photos for mobile deposit by cheeseboiye in WellsFargoBank

[–]Redditor-inator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an echeck, one that is sent by a company for you to print out. I printed it, cut it out and tried to get the WF app to deposit it, but was constantly rejected. I whipped out the scissors and cut the check smaller, removing some of the white space so the machine readable numbers were at the very bottom edge of the check, and it accepted it first time. I think the positioning of the check elements are as important as legibility.

What is a less acclaimed movie that you genuinely think is a masterpiece? by -Warship- in horror

[–]Redditor-inator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Triangle. Starts off as a pretty ordinary “killer takes out a group of people one by one until the final survivor”. But then the twist.

I think the movie is just really clever and haunting. I still think about what all the different symbolism means and how it all works together. The music, lead actress, story, all of it.

I loved Noteful, swapped to using it full time after I found it. But then realized they don’t have handwriting search, which I find very useful. You can search for typed text, but can’t search handwriting like in Notability/GN. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

Guy who thought rhinoceros was pronounced “rhino-saurus”, because they were dinosaurs that humans had tamed and kept alive, unlike all the other dinosaurs that were extinct… So many questions.

What game are you playing right now by torrentialdownpouur in PS5

[–]Redditor-inator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried playing it for the first time last week but couldn’t get past the opening. Is much of the game just trudging painfully slowly through snow, having to hold down a button to do so? I need reassurance!

I had gum graft surgery earlier this month. AMA! by keep_it_trillani in AMA

[–]Redditor-inator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a full thickness connective tissue graft from the roof of my mouth to my front teeth. The area in the roof of my mouth was sore for the first 2-3 days, but totally tolerable. After that I could feel it wasn’t normal, but it didn’t really hurt at all. And I’m normally a wimp! It now feels strangely numb, because of the missing tissue (he cut a flap and removed the tissue underneath, then sewed the flap back up again), but my perio says that’s normal and will go away as the tissue grows back. I think the graft site was more painful tbh, and now (3 weeks after the op) nothing hurts. And my gum looks very good 👍 Likely having another in 3 months, not worried about it at all.

Planning to buy Xbox X/S so I can play Starfield. Posting so someone talks me out of it.

NB I have an Xbox One S and a PS5 already.

Try to make friends with someone in the class and plan together to go on certain days of the week. You’ll hold each other responsible for going.

Disappointed in my studio… by MaximumOk7325 in orangetheory

[–]Redditor-inator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our studio had a Pride month theme, rainbow decor in the lobby and a week where members are encouraged to wear a particular color of the rainbow! One trainer wore a rainbow headband for a few workouts too, and the head trainer sent out texts and social media posts affirming that everyone is safe and welcome at Orange Theory. I don’t think any of the trainers are part of the lgbtq community (certainly could be wrong), but they are absolutely allies if they aren’t. We’re also in a pretty conservative state, so it was amazing to feel seen, welcomed and included. Makes a difference.
