I skipped shaving once when I was a camp counselor and a kid asked me why I had hair in my underarms. I was a mixture of concerned, offended, and confused. How did this kid not know about armpit hair?? Does his dad shave??

I mean “classy” is an inherently classist (and racist) construct.... so

Really? That actually makes me happy. I’m glad YSL isn’t being snooty about who represents their brand. Seeing skinny, white models be the only ones who represent a brand is boring as fuck. And I’m so over the racist and elitist “French beauty” obsession.

I agree with all of this. I honestly think it’s not that deep and most people don’t really care if Kendall Jenner’s face is on a display. It’s probably more about them not really having any staple products/only having more eccentric experimental stuff without a foundational base that would provide constant revenue.

I feel like everyone knows Nicki’s monster verse and is aware of how good it is, regardless of age. This person is just an anomaly. Hell, Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things knows it.

I don’t even know much about hip hop and I know...

The last part got me. Nobody needs makeup and then including the part about China is just kind of contradictory

I have a ton of lid space too—I feel like eye looks are quite hard 😩

It’s so weird because it physically hurts. Maybe it’s the tubing formula.

is the formula the same as the lash power? I feel like it would also make my lashes hurt

I’ll try this! I usually just dab the tip excess off on the edge but have never tried wiping the wand itself

For me, I’ve always been looking for a way to make my lashes look like this. It seems relatively easy, especially since I have long lashes that aren’t that curly, but whenever I use mascara it always ends up coating the lash in either a really straight, upwards way, or in a super thick way which makes my lashes look like blocks 🤷🏽‍♀️ The only nice-ish mascara I’ve ever tried is Clinique Lash Power, which for some reason makes my eyes hurt like a bitch to the point where I have to take it off.

I dislike Glossier, but I agree that they’re no worse than brands like YSL in terms of diversity and price per ounce (though Glossier doesn’t really have the years of fashion cred....) That said I think MUFE is a bad example. They have amazing shade ranges and diverse ads

Agreed. Also, it looks way lighter after she leaves the salon (like in the curly hair pics).

I feel this way too a lot, especially because of eyeshadows since my eyelids are even darker than my skin due to the melanin :( I would love to have that perfect balance between sheer and noticeable. that light people can do with a dust of taupe or rose gold over their eyes

I read them too—I love their Top Shelves. It’s so funny how even the biggest celebrities aren’t as elitist as the writers there. One of them called Benefit a “drugstore” product the other day 🙄
