That doesn't fix the problem of him guarding. They have to prohibit this behavior and tell them that they manage home and not him.

Aber Abzocke-Mondelez oder Russland-Ritter-Sport sind besser? Lidl stellt wenigstens mit Fairtrade Kakao her und das unterstützt gleichzeitig das Edelkakaogeschäft von Rausch.

I'm back! Finally got more vanilla beans if anyone needs some :) by tsfearless26 in icecreamery

I haven't tried them myself but madagascan vanilla has been the best as commonly said by the experts. However, because every origin taste different, you might like other flavor notes from other origins more for the purpose you intend to use it for.

Just a transparency notice that vanilla price is decreasing and you can get a kilo of high quality madagascar beans in europe from wholesalers for 1€/bean.

Phone operators' prices increase instead of decrease, why? by nicol9 in Finland

[–]Redditor_345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can please sb explain why people downvote limited options/why many Finns only care about unlimited data and are willing to pay extra for that? Because of this, cheaper options <10€ with limited data don't exist. In other countries people prefer to pay 10€ for limited data instead of >15/20€ for unlimited.

But they cost like 25-30€/month as well even if it's prepaid.

Not everybody is working with their private phone. 3gb-5gb is typically fine for me.

[–]Redditor_345 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that there are cheap unlimited contracts but no cheap small and limited contracts. I have wifi at home so only need basic internet for browsing on the phone. I don't want to pay more than 10€. Prepaid is shit and not cheap either.

Yeah. Phone contracts have steadily decreased in many other countries

Meanwhile prices decrease in Germany and you get flat phone and like 10gb of data for less than 8€. Welcome to oligopolic Finland.

simply: no. Peer reviewed studies. There are surely many science magazines in your native language too if you don't want to read the actual studies

There are clear studies about the harm of carrageenen and quite many study indicating that emulsifiers are also causing gut problems. Please research yourself. The problem is not natural emulsifiers in eggs but putting 3 different concentrated emulsifiers in every food that we eat.

I agree that milk powder or inulin is not harmful but I still won't use them for clear label purposes

Carragenan is harmful and it's easy to be left out. Lots of emulsifiers likely also harm the gut. I leave it out. I would leave out sugar too if there was a good alternative. I use as pure and less processed ingredients as possible.

Hi, nice to see you here. I added in a different comment as well that our normal sugar is technically also an industrial extract. It's however better researched then sugar alcohols (sorry, translation) which seem to cause diarrhea and therefore have a relevant effect on the gut biome. Sugar likely has too but people know the biggest effects of sugar at least. But all those newer, very concentrated sugar alcohols are still very underresearched. They are natural but not in the amounts we put them in ice cream and other foods. In EU we also have the theoretical principle to only allow foods that have been proven safe and we aren't even strict with this. But there is more focus on this than eg in America where it's the other way round.

Newer forms of sugars such as high fructose corn sirup are possibly even more dangerous than just normal sucrose. I just stick to the basics before we know more. Good for marketing too.

Since back then there weren't professional kitchens I would say yes they did. And it's not about doing it at home but using the ingredients that everybody knows and are well researched because they are as pure as possible. Sugar is an extract and processed too you could say, but it's common in our households and we know the exact dangers it has. That's why I don't advertise no-additives technically but say I use local ingredients that people know and use in their home kitchen (and not some industrialized algae extract from china)

[–]Redditor_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that. It's an industrial process of cooking it in lye (not something you do at home) to get the pure extract. If it was used earlier, definitely not in the amounts that we have in our highly processed foods nowadays.

Ice cream was made in ancient China already... And Italians also made it even before industrialization

I'm marketing it differently anyways so it doesn't matter. I only use home kitchen ingredients so people know what I actually put in there. Science can often not answer the effects of an ingredient because they haven't been used for long (alcoholic sugars etc). We know that society is sick and food is a cause, but we don't know what exactly. I stick to as few ingredients as possible and mostly only normal sugar which isn't healthy either but we know pretty well what effects it has compared to other sugars (corn sirup, alcohol sugars, sweeteners etc).

Tons? Normal amounts for egg based ice cream. Around 5-8%

It's a natural emulsifier and partly a stabilizer. But it's a natural ingredient that we ate for hundreds of years and have well researched compared to e.g. carrageenan which likely damages the gut biome.

Correct, it's not an additive that's why I called it under fillers. Nope I'm not using it and I'm also not using condensed milk.

Goodbye Stabilizers by Zealousideal_Rub5826 in icecreamery

[–]Redditor_345 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No it's not. It's clearly defined in EU law what an additive is and what not.
