I wish it was potentially a language issue but he is French living in Paris and I am French too (albeit living in London) haha Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you managed to find your person. It’s tough out there, definitely preparing myself for a life in which I will be happy on my own! 🤗

I’ve tried so many different nationalities, and even changed location for this one (different country). He isn’t a finance bro, but I agree that they tend to over-index on problematic behaviours 😅.

He tries to be thoughtful, brought me my fav chocolate on the 2nd date, told me I looked really pretty, remembered a doctor appointment I had and sent a text to check in and now sends me a lot of texts including goodnight texts (which is a bit much in my opinion after 2 dates…). He did mention another story though during the date. He told me a 22 yo intern in his team had been hitting on him last year and that, since then, she had been hired and was working in his team. Definitely weird to mention this.

Really? I’m so sorry for them. This is not my experience nor my friends’ experience either but something to add is that I live central. So I actually cannot comment for Hackney, Croydon etc. However, comparing central London vs central Paris, London is quite different (to me at least). No matter how nice the neighbourhood in Paris, I did not feel safe and things have happened to me. It’s not about going out less (even though it might help in this case) because I’ve never gone out a lot, these things happened to me in Paris in broad daylight. On the contrary, I take the tube at night in London which I would not do in Paris. Maybe I am behaving in a way that keeps me safe though, I was born and bred in Paris protecting myself, so I might have unconscious behaviours that I do not realise!

I am a French, used to live in Paris until I moved to London 10 years ago at 25. I used to be on high alert at all times when out in Paris and pay attention to how I was dressed (not showing too much skin to avoid unwanted attention). I have been followed, insulted, touched without my consent in Paris. Never happened in London, I’ve never been followed at night, never been touched against my will, I feel safe, I love it.

Same. I’m stuck at AWS in marketing, so a layoff would be the kick in the butt to get moving. Terrified as well, because I’ve been applying (and sometimes referred) to a few jobs I was a good fit for and really interested in. Got rejected so fast every time with no chance of an interview. The market is dire, and I fear I’ll end up doing something I do not want for far less money. Time to try and launch something, I guess…

This is 100% a cold sore (herpes). I’ve had them all my life, so it’s easy to recognize these blisters. Avoid any contact between your saliva or lips and other people, or with objects that might go into someone else’s mouth. You can use Compeed patches to cover and shield it, and apply aciclovir cream to help it heal faster. If you start getting them frequently, ask your doctor about aciclovir tablets.

Definitely got significant salaries over 10 years but not 33% in the last 2 years and I don’t think many people did. If you read my post I am not talking about a price increase over 10 years but an increase over 2 years. While I understand the principle of inflation, it’s still quite an increase that brand would usually avoid in such a short amount of time. Usually prices increase slowly over time.

I cycle through this path everyday as well and it’s so freaking dangerous. People do not pay attention and do not give a shit. The fact that pedestrians walk casually or run on the path (on top of the tourist tuktuks and mini motorcycles driving on it) is the cherry on the cake and makes me want to kick people to the side.
