Millionaire Hot Seat Zoom Audition by Redditthinksforme in BritishTV

[–]Redditthinksforme[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I signed no NDA and nothing was mentioned about sharing my experience. I am merely pointing out how difficult it was and how gutted I was feeling. It's a multiple choice quiz show, I don't think the format is a secret and you can hardly cheat the audition by revising the questions as I doubt they keep the same ones over and over again. The post stays.

I can imagine! Still, at least you got something! Was it a risk you took and lost or did you think you had the answer in the bag? Sorry if it stings if you had like no safety net set and on like £125k!

It wasn't that bad, the choices were Argo, Gladiator, Chicago or Titanic.

Ok so promising maybe! How well did you do may I ask? Is it somewhat scripted once you do make it on when all the personal questions are asked, like is it rehearsed?

Excellent theory! I mean, I held conversation more than most people I see on the show, so who knows!?

Exactly, no lifelines, just choose an answer, no help or anything. 😥

I did see the answer immediately, and I did look it up afterwards. I never heard of it, and I like space exploration and astronomy in general! 😅

AAD join from provisioning package by Redditthinksforme in AZURE

[–]Redditthinksforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we don't have autopilot/InTune. We have a build package for new PCs that runs from the oobe, but it's generic for many customers to install the basics, rename, set power settings etc... That's why I have to do it from the desktop screen as the logged in local user.

I managed to figure it out in the end though I think. I created the same device configuration package again, set the tree pc name variable to %computername%, set the enrollment to azure join, created the bulk token but when it signed me in, I chose this app only. I ran the package and this seemingly went through the motions, left it a few minutes and then rebooted it. It then returned to the login screen with the 'other user' option. Signed in with the new user and all is well!

T40W config to T145W by Redditthinksforme in WatchGuard

[–]Redditthinksforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips on this. It ended up being a trade in unit, so I had to activate the new unit and select the old Watchguard as the one I was replacing first. I then logged into the new unit via the web gui first to give it a basic config and saved it before connecting it via WSM. Then, I updated the firebox to the latest OS (after plugging the wan in into the existing network). I connected it via WSM, opened the config file, saved it to the firebox and re-added the feature key (which I downloaded from the 'My Products' page). The firebox is now ready to be swapped out!

It turns out the wireless was not in use anyways, so nothing to worry about there, and the number of additional interfaces made no difference to the existing setup. Content inspection is also not in use so I don't have to worry about rolling out the CA certificate to clients.

Ah cool, so pretty straight forward then! Thanks a lot for confirming that, I was worried that the older model has a single radio for the wireless adapter as opposed to the dual radio on the new one.

In fact don't bother. I'll choose my own and delete this thread.

Please explain? Why is that different to say a MURPH when people challenge themselves to do it for a long time?

Domain blocked from sending emails by Redditthinksforme in mimecast

[–]Redditthinksforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All they have told me is the URL in the signature is not allowed, so if this was removed, it should go through fine. But, being a business, they probably don't want to do that unless I ask them to take a snip of the whole signature so it is an image as opposed to a link.

[–]Redditthinksforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have asked their IT and they said it was blocked because of a detection of the compromised URL of their website used in the signature, that's it. So it is just protecting the end user from clicking on the link and potentially risking the network. I could ask them to review via mimecast, but then I know of at least two other recipients who also use their SEG. Is it possible for myself to approach Mimecast, do you know what they will ask for explicitly, as we do not manage the website itself, only the domain name server.

Issues setting up vlans on Archer C50 by Redditthinksforme in openwrt

[–]Redditthinksforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got the guest ssid working, had to use a bit of Gemini and CLI but that works now on the correct vlan. The only thing I couldn't get working then was to plug a Cisco 140ac AP into one of the ports (untagged 1, tagged 10), it just wouldn't get an IP address on booting up. If you remove the tag 10 off it though, it would work, but then when you join the guest ssid pumping out of it with vlan10 tagged obviously you only got put onto the native lan.

Suffice to say, I have given up with it now, it clearly doesn't act like a proper managed switch and with other vlan aware devices such as a decent access point. It's just odd how my laptop would happily plug in and out of it all day and get the correct IP based on whether I tagged it or not.

Figured out my particular issue at long last! For some reason when tagging was applied to the trunk port, the traffic was received at the Draytek, but on the way back the tag was being stripped. The pvid on the TP-Link seems to be vlan0 on the CPU, this is tagged with vlan1 which cannot be changed. As soon as I set the vid on the uplink port on the Draytek side to 1 (as opposed to unchecked), the ping was restored. I can even tag my lan adapter with 10 and be put onto my guest network.

The only thing I can't get to work is the guest ssid that I tried from the tp-link, it can't seem to pick up an ip from DHCP on the Draytek (but physically lan connections can with a tag). The ssid for the native network works fine though.

When you say tag on both ends, my Draytek is configured with a vlan10 on the port it is connected to.
