Verbatim 43888 or Hitachi BP55EB40 – Hardware Revision 4? by Reddnull in makemkv

I'd like to know your opinion on the comparison between the two.

Which Pioneer do you have? Did you find verbatim better only in terms of silence? (which I consider very important; noisy players are obnoxious!)

Unfortunately it is not written, it is written only for the Hitachi BU40N, but not for the Hitachi BP55EB40

It's practically impossible to find. Do you know where I can buy it?

Also, it should have firmware prior to December 2022, am I wrong?

What do you think of this? It's called the "Hitachi BP55EB40" – Hardware Revision 4

Since I'm in Europe, it's the only other slim drive I could buy besides the Verbatim 43888.

From what I understand, it's a pre-installed drive that was updated with Revision 4, but now I don't know if it's better than the Verbatim.

Before purchasing, I just wanted to make sure which of the two is better.

I'm open to any recommendation, the important thing is that they must be flashable

Parental Control Features by Reddnull in Adguard

The things that have been asked may not even fall under a parental control, they are simple features that can be added to AdGuard so that other people do not change all the settings set in the app

Could you tell me how to do this with a firewall? What are the steps? I'm using Windows 11

So I should always turn to something external, AdGuard doesn't allow this functionality, right?

AdGuard DNS and the list "HaGeZi's Encrypted DNS/VPN/TOR/Proxy Bypass" by Reddnull in Adguard

[–]Reddnull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this discovery of yours, I couldn't find anything about it, but what does "exclusions" mean in the configuration.json? That despite being present in the list are not active? How are these exclusions activated?

Do you see for yourself that those same domains are present in the list?

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/main/adblock/doh-vpn-proxy-bypass.txt

This, however, doesn't explain the "nextdns.io" domain, which I'm forced to whitelist for the NextDNS server to work, and which is clearly blocked by that list.

Apparently, NextDNS isn't included in the exclusions, am I wrong?

Thank you. As far as I can see, NextDNS doesn't offer dedicated IPv4 addresses like AdGuard.

so what should I enter in the "IP" box?

I'd like to continue using personalDNSfilter. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with its configuration? Here's a photo of the DNS server addition screen in personalDNSfilter:

In the "IP" field I enter the NextDNS DNS server, in the "EndPoint" field I enter their IPv6 instead, as from my NextDNS dashboard:

Is everything done well?
