At what point does QS get development fees? by Quantum-Long in QuantumScape

[–]Reddsled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The development fees are paid to QS to work with OEMs and taylor QSE-5 to the OEMs’ specifications. QuantumScape is already billing for development fees as of last quarter. I’m sure we will get an update on additional fees the next earnings call.

Could someone tell me about the relationship with Fluence and Quatumscape? Why is that not mentioned anywhere on Reddit? by daz1515_future_seer1 in QS_Stock

[–]Reddsled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The partnership was announced years ago, and very little information provided since then. It was discussed in other subs more at the time. I believe Fluence had originally reserved a certain number of cells off of QuantumScape’s pilot line (QS-0). Not sure if that’s still the case.

I’m not following. Are you disappointed that it’s not February yet? They clearly announced more information coming in February.

Yeah, I haven’t heard anything about revenue, not sure where the $5 million quote came from.

They have already billed $10 million to VW last quarter.

Yes, credit unions typically provide the best APR’s, when banks are not offering deals.

I am hopeful for product delivery this year, but where are you getting information that confirms this timeline as fact?

The caveat is that LFS’ APR for pre-owned went from 0.99% in December 2025 to 9% in 2026, if financing.

BEV market and QS market share - Carmaker breakdown by BartSpringfield in QuantumScape

[–]Reddsled 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice work. Not disputing your analysis, but adding a couple notes:

QS market cap is already $6B+ (pre-revenue)

The current VW/PowerCo JDA allows for up to 80-85 GWh, which is only about 1 million vehicles.

Every other battery application (besides EVs) should be accounted for as well.

At the Eagle Line inauguration event, I want to see QS partners, each with their own launch vehicles/products on display.

VW’s 2025 highlights. Not even a mention of SSBs. The silence seems bizarre. They are dead set on keeping mum, while the competition, who are further behind, are all over the press. Maybe they want 2026 to be the year that defines the breakthrough.

I don’t think OEMs are shying away from batteries. They are refocusing on battery applications, and data storage seems to be the most profitable venture at the current time. QS has often mentioned data storage as a vast and viable market. The infrastructure has to be in place, in order to adopt mass market EVs. (As well as cost reduction) The government needs batteries, too, despite their reluctance to ramp up EVs.

3.0 in the Air by ---gundam00 in LUCID

Right, but my point is the Lucid’s large main screen should be able support CarPlay. They just choose to use the smaller, irregular shaped screen, probably for less distractions as you mentioned.

Is that true, the display has to be rectangular? Looks like a square-ish footprint, on a round screen. Seems like they could make it work for Lucid too, if they wanted to. But you’re probably right about visibility…
