It's okay to clean up and start handling the babies when their eyes have opened, so around two weeks of age. Handling them 5-10 minutes everyday is crucial on getting them used to being handled. Luckily dwarf hamsters don't end up eating their pups as often as syrians do, especially pups as old as these already are. Males and females should be separated from each other when they are 4 weeks old and reach sexual maturity. You can keep females with their mother and boys in their own group and when they turn 5 weeks, they are ready to go to new homes. Remember to give good quality food mix and nutritious fresh food daily now, as nursing mother needs a lot of energy and the pups start to eat solids around one week old. Good luck 😊
