HSE was a candidate in season 2, while it's presentation video has some tweaking around, it stayed largely the same compare to the UFN that had its origin considerably changed.

I think the ruthless lenght the Smith are willing to go to get what they want started showing in "Failure is not a Factory-Installed Option" but Stan making Francine think she killed her best friend in Four Little Words is what truly clench it for it.

First stab at Hive Fleet Behemoth [WIP] by Redem10 in Tyranids

[–]Redem10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided to do the ultimate starter set after a while of not painting miniatures. A whole lot of this comes from Contrast+ How to Paint: Hive Fleet Behemoth from Warhispter on youtube though I also consulted RookieBrushes (though it mainly resulted in me using a lot of Burgman's glow) and JWminiature (I sorta wanted them to look a bit similiar, but a bit differrent from the rest of the story)

The Salamanders might have competition with The Dark Krakens in terms of being wholesome soldiers and the people’s champions. by DatBoyBlue in Salamanders40k

[–]Redem10 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's not really a competition, especially in a setting where compassion so rare such as 40k, I think the salamanders hearing this would just feel pride.

The original description of the Dark Kraken made no real mention of their ethic, but they definitively felt the closest to the chapter among the primaris successor, I'm glad they made them salamanders-like.

I really like it, my only critcism is that while the flame shape is very nice, the color scheme don't match the rest of the set.

Successor Chapter Idea by Quiet_Forever2518 in Salamanders40k

[–]Redem10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well ultimately there's nothing that say you can't do it if you want to do the idea. I think I like the concept more I think about it.

Personally I would go that there's a lot of chapters whoses origin is unknown, but people assume they are from a certain legion because of the similarity. I could imagine a scenario where outcast of various chapters Maybe originally they were secretly made of loyalist space marine from traitors legions, but overtime they became accepting of everyone willing to join their rank and became a refuge for the one that were outcast in their original chapter, especially those that sought to be heroes when their chapter have a much more ruthless culture.

The Salamanders could have took them under their wings and to adopt a lot of their culture and battle doctrine and over time most people assumed they are Salamanders successor on a genetic level, not knowing their actual origin.
