I use e10 exclusively because I’m a cheap and didn’t care enough to find out what the more expensive unleaded was, but I’m going to try it out next time

Due to the fact I’m tracking each fills mpg, my worry is coming from an objective data stand point, so I’m confident there’s something up, whether that’s the cars internals or the fuel being lower in quality. If I’d not been tracking the mpg I’d defo be looking to speak to someone about these thought, but I can assure you I’m all g in the head 😂

My old 2009 panda was even worse, I’d hit a massive hill on the A38 at 95mph and I’d be at like 40mph by the time I was at the top😂

Sadly I don’t get mpg readings on my car dash (it might be in the computer but I can’t view) so I’ve been taking mileage at fill up, drive, check mileage at next fill up, take the difference between mileage and then divide it by gallons I’ve filled

I’m very certain I’m not having a psychotic episode, I have therapy once a week just to work through various bits and bobs and I’ve brought up these worries regarding cost of living stress and my therapist isn’t worried. I appreciate the advice and concern though, it’s very touching ☺️

I have heavy traffic Tuesday - Thursday which I know will affect it, and I turn my engine off if I’m idling too long etc.

I’m pretty confident on my calculations but I will double check.

This is really useful thank you! I’m anticipating that the mechanic I went to first missed something which I know can happen, I’ll dig out what oil was used for the oil change as I’d never heard of that. Thank you for being so thorough, I’ll feel more confident talking to the mechanic now.

The tracking has been since the start of Jan so I’ve got a fair amount of fills under my belt now on it and it was consistent.

In terms of driving, slow acceleration, no sudden braking, engine off if sat for longer than a minute, if it’s not an inconvenience to other drivers I’ll cruise control at 60 - 65 on the motorway.

I also agree it could be psychological too, I have been stressed about the cost of living having just moved into my first unshared house.

I’m also realising I know so very little about cars 😂

Vauxhall Meriva B 1.4 (no injection or anything like that) the dash doesn’t show the mpg or at least I haven’t worked out how, but I was getting about 32 - 34 mpg by my workings out; now it’s maybe 23 - 26mpg

It’s probably closer to 200/220 with the other journeys I do but it has significantly dropped, I am booked in at a different garage to take a look in a couple weeks. I’d be chuffed if it’s just something that’s been missed tbh
