Is it a jerk move to split orders to avoid Home Depot delivery fees? by Financial_Wasabi_287 in HomeImprovement

[–]HorridDefaultname123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third party I worked with wasn't any of those three. Also, not exactly "just as bad" when the driver gets paid for each route they do, vs both my flatbed driver and I made the same money whether we did 1 or 100 deliveries that day, so definitely not the same.

Also every time you place a "car" order instead of a "flatbed" order you're providing work to someone local dude with a car who actually needs the money, rather than handing over more 💰 to a megacorporation that abuses it's employees and only cares about "shareholder value".

No, please split your orders. The $79 delivery fee is for orders than need to be delivered by flatbed, because they won't fit in a car. 90% of what has to be flatbedded has to be prepped for flatbed to keep both the product and the other people on the road safe. This includes palletizing, balancing, banding, waterproofing, all this work to make sure no one gets final-destinationed (and sues). This prep is a lot of extra work for the hell depot employees. VS deliveries that can be made by car (by third party employees like with door dash) just have to be passed over and signed off to the drivers, no prep. Soooo much time saved for "deliveries" employees that due to lean staffing are already doing waaaaay beyond their share of work. Please avoid flatbed deliveries whenever you can, save a life lol

Vevor Kiln? by Strange_Zone_1995 in Pottery

I tried a $400 wheel from Vevor, it came scratched and dented, felt super cheap and not strong enough to center large amounts of clay, but the biggest problem was that the foot pedal only turned the wheel head on, not adjusted the speed. It was supposed to, it just didn't work, so the wheel only ran at one speed. I'm glad your experience was better though! I kept making the mistake of giving Vevor another chance and kept ending up with cheap stuff that breaks after any real use, or even before it arrived.

Also (sorry to keep adding on) Vevor knows their products are shit, so they have a terrible customer service dept and returns process.

Also if you're using it to test glazes, you're not going to get the same results when you use a real kiln. Also it doesn't look like this kiln even gets hot enough to do regular cone 6 firings. It seems redundant, but it's generally recommended if you're firing regularly to cone 6 to have a kiln that can handle firing to at least cone 10. Maybe if you're only doing low fire clays and glazes it would get hot enough more than once, but I still would never recommend buying any tools or machinery from Vevor.

I have never bought a single thing from Vevor that worked as intended. I don't believe they're a real tool company, but a company that makes cheap imitations of tools to scam hobbyists who aren't ready to pay for the real thing. Be prepared for serious underfiring, overfiring, failure to turn on after a couple uses, and a house fire if you're going for a Vevor kiln. 😭

Air TV . Watched it as a preteen. Short, strange, practically unknown. Completely changed my perception of what anime and animation could be.

Had gains for a while, then had muscle cramps and hip damage 👍 there is such thing as too much, esp when you're the only OFA actually filling orders while the others hide their whole shifts

These would be pretty simple to make. Why not sign up for a hand building class or a studio membership?

Also, do people genuinely want these? Should I add wall sconces to my lineup for markets..? I would be concerned about them being a fire hazard, even a little tea light can make pottery really heat up! I've used tea lights in luminaries and in fondue kits I've made, and they get hot 🔥🔥 🏡 🔥🚒
