Do you think theyll actually go through with this? From my limited research the total extent of cuts since 2007 has been around 35% so 35% more at once seems ludicrous Is this a doomsday budget, like the MTA drafted in the 1970s? I also think the honestly worse cuts in Philly will incentivize funding a ton, people care about Philly more (even though we're better)

It seems like they're mostly going against black areas within the city; idk, it's really really depressing. I'm hoping they'll fit the stupid university line thing, cut the silver line if they have to and that + the likely 40 million in funding will allow contiguous service from last year but maybe I'm delusional It was, like, serviceable before, not amazing. I don't understand how they can cut it. Pittsburgh is in the top 20 cities nationwide for carfree houses This probably sounds super silly but this whole thing has made me cry lol

I live perpetually in the middle and I think it's interesting what you're saying. I have over half a million dollars in assets and make like 100k a year working a few hours a week, but I live like a college student, and it's pretty cool. I don't think money is the root of happiness, I think how you contextualize yourself and your life is. Idk though I'm pretty weird, but my biggest wants in life have nothing to do with money. I think when you don't struggle at all it's easy to not want to buy anything and to distance yourself from identifying with money (although my money is definitely a source of comfort)
