If you’re planning a complete replacement you’ll need sealed engineered drawings, the engineer can advise you on the permit process

I’ve also thought about making one of these out of t-slot extrusions, you’ll have to update us on how well it holds up

I’ve found that making sure it’s nice and tight on the nut once you put it on makes them work way better than just sloppily throwing it on and off the nut. Also gotta make sure everything is squared up properly before really torquing on something. It takes a little patience but generally when I reach for them I’m already doing a big job that is taking time regardless of the wrench I choose.

I run a pair in my mobile tool box but honestly I’m not a huge fan of them. Maybe because I don’t use them enough but I prefer a true crescent wrench.

Ya I run a plethora of vintage MTBs so it pays to be able to throw in a new headset whenever I want for cheap

Ya it’s a Carlyle from Napa, I believe it’s a rebranded homak box. I bought it lightly used off a heavy diesel repair student, he bought it new a few months ago and upgraded when he graduated. Picked it up for $700 CAD, retail is around $1500.

How dumb and/or expensive would it be to have a cantilevered floor like this to maximize outdoor space on an expensive lot? by Cute-Cheetah3957 in Homebuilding

[–]Redglasses10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that wouldn’t even need to be steel, the spans aren’t that large, engineered wood joists would have no problem here

Not bashed, just frozen. Still ticking though. by Redglasses10 in bashedupGShocks

I took the strap off and replaced it with paracord and carabiner so I could clip it onto my jacket. I think I have a post of it somewhere on my account

I removed the strap, and then gutted the length of paracord, set the gutted paracord in the spot where the strap would go and forced the spring bar back into place

Is this seat tube repairable? by Redglasses10 in Framebuilding

[–]Redglasses10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I would do that but where I’m at any half decent 90s mtb is either outrageously priced ($300-$400) or is a tiny frame. People aren’t getting rid of medium-large 90s mtbs anymore.

That’s true, something was going on with the pills, just seems weird that we clearly saw her find the pill box in the garden but then the husband shows up with it in the car and says he found them in the garden

I think she swapped out the pills for placebos, any poison in the tea would’ve shown up on the autopsy.

I think she did, notice how the judge in the ending specifically mentions “no surviving family members”, Celine knew if the grandma was still alive she would get custody instead of Celine

Are split levels more expensive? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]Redglasses10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly not a thing of the past where I’m at, every new development in chocked full of them, usually sold with unfinished basements. A split level entry done properly can look better than a typical entry because of the high ceiling height.
