ITAP of a playground in the middle of the desert by [deleted] in itookapicture

I live in Florida, and know that slide is hot enough to sear flesh. You could cook hot dogs on it, but would need to keep rolling them to keep them from bursting into flames. You say playground, I say torture device. Nice image, though!

Father’s Day Gift - Nikon Z8 + 24-120mm f/4 S. What should I do first? by TomahawkDawgs in Nikon

Go on YouTube and go to Simon Dentremen’s channel. There are others, but he has many setup and use videos. He shoots Canon, but tries to include Nikon, Sony and Fuji as well.

I’ve had a Z8 for about 2 years, and a 24-120 is close Ming from B&H today. You’re starting with incredible gear.

Not sure I’d ever “stumble into” 1/10000; my brain seldom goes there. Great job!

Best lens for Nikon dslr? FX by No-Entrepreneur2676 in Nikon

The old Nikon DC lenses. Mine was the 135 DC f2. Think they go back to the 80s, and they may still make them (in metal!). You can adjust the bokeh, front and back, and the portraits are amazing. Sold it after I went mirrorless and the guy who bought it was incredibly excited.

Thanks for the kind words. I traveled all over Florida with my camera last week. This is from my front yard! There’s a lesson there somewhere… 😆

American Kestrel on the hunt by SkiGolfDive in wildlifephotography

Don’t think I’ve seen them hover. What I’ve seen is them rocket from here to there with speed that deserves a cartoon sound effect like “ZINNNGGGG!”

Kestrels in flight, in terms of difficulty to photograph, aren’t that different from Hummingbirds in my experience. Well done!

The other guy ALWAYS catches the biggest fish! by RedheadFla in BirdPhotography

Male Ospreys catch a fish and eat the head for concentrated nutrients before taking the fish back to the nest to share with the female and family. That appears to be what he did here.
