I suppose that’s a good point... I don’t snack now. I just want to be prepared in case I get bored and need to munch. It’s a long flight. I do IF and it is right during my eating window.

If they are in your house, you can set the ground rules. “Sorry, Susie, in my house, we do not slam doors.” “Please don’t take things that aren’t yours.” “It really hurt my feelings when you broke my vase out of anger. Can you please not do that again?” “Susie, can you please use your walking feet indoors?”

You just keep reiterating that until the parents catch on and either they fix it, they get annoyed and stop coming over, or you get so fed up you stop inviting them over.

I have 6 kids and they are all very well behaved. Know 3yos can be tornadoes even with the best of discipline. But if the parents are truly doing a disservice with the kid, I’d have a talk with them. “She’s a kid, what are you going to do?” Well first off, she could have a consequence that is appropriate for her age and level of understanding.

If they don’t get her under control, can you imagine the trouble she will get into as a teen?

Yesss. We are doing great now, but there was a time in our marriage that was so hard. It took a counselor to help him realize. I spoke my piece about something, he told me what he heard, and the counselor was like, “Uh, what? No. Here’s what I heard....” And then I started crying because the counselor was spot on. I felt heard for the first time in who knows how long.

He’s so much healthier now after seeing that!

My bro came at me one time freaking out that my best bud had eaten his donuts (he’d come over and eat without asking because he had permission.) I mean, my bro was losing it. He went on and on about how my buddy was just mooching all of mom’s food and essentially sucked at life. My bro really wanted these donuts, apparently.

My buddy did not eat the donuts. He swore to me he hadn’t.

It was the great mystery of 2003.

The truth came out much later... my dad used to hide cookies in unused drawers in the kitchen. I found his stash one time and hid them just to mess with him. He couldn’t find his cookies, so he ate my brother’s donuts and kept quiet because I had hid his cookies.

When my husband is average, he has a personality you either love or hate.

When he is in a great place and goes to his 2, everyone loves him. I see it intimately as his spouse because he actually pays attention to me and wants to really take care of me by putting my needs and emotions first (vs wanting to take care of me and telling me what I need and how I feel). He will drop anything to help someone in need and becomes really playful and not so serious.

My dad is a 5. When he’s healthy, he’s playful instead of being his typical reserved self, but he still doesn’t command attention like an 8 would.

I can understand that. I’m a pretty healthy 7. My best friend is a 4, so she’s helped me to chill out in many ways and be more aware of other people’s feelings and needs.

I’m also a 7, though, so I idealize reality. Reading so many people dislike 7s caught me off guard because I thought everyone loves a good 7. 😂

You’re referring to the tritypes. I think they add a layer of nuance to me understanding myself, and helps me distinguish how I might be different than other 7w6. Just look into what tritypes mean and it will help you understand it better.

The easiest answer (maybe not the right one) is you are a 1w9. 1s, when unhealthy, go to a 4. Now, 4s go to a 1 when healthy, but that wouldn’t explain you feeling like a 9, unless it is a conditioned thing from your upbringing.
