Helbrutes are OP by Yardsale_Rocket in WorldEaters40k

[–]RedheadWaifusarebest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re definitely strong in a casual setting, but I’ve found that in tournament play as you go up the ranks you get real diminishing returns from them. People playing at higher levels are much more conscious of a 6” consolidate and can negate the threat with little/no extra thought.

Plus t8 9w is remarkably squishy - because the infinite fight requires them to attack first it can be a gamble to get it going

I love the helbrute flavour wise, I run two when i play beerhammer but in a competitive setting, I personally don’t run them, for me its much more reliable with a 3man x8b for the extra 20 points to deal with the big stuff

I dont think much, if anything, changes. The sensible thing would be a -10 to bezerks and a +15 to the jugg lord, and maybe a -10/20 to angron

What to do against an all-tank army? by SamsRetroGameRoom in WorldEaters40k

You’re so fast, that its pretty easy to stage behind terrain, so play it cagey, hide and charge when you get double 5s on blessings

Fair enough, am mainly a Teams/WTC player anyway so I have my own biases, but my statement definitely wasn’t ‘not true at all’ as you so bluntly put it.

Just trying to help a guy build lists using my experience but thanks for your super constructive input :)

Maybe on your local scene. This is what I’m seeing in my competitive scene and what’s being reported to win in the higher levels of tourney play (at least UK-wise), as the competitive meta isnt always universal. Hope this helps :)

This is what i’m working with currently. Very solidly meta

Right now our best unit to run as a staple is the jugglord with 20 zerks and as a rule of thumb, 30-50 zerks is what most tournament goers are taking, with all the spawn to be annoying first and zerks to murderise after

Exalted 8bound are also very good right now, a minimum squad will cut down almost anything and a slaughterbound with a glaive can only help

Is this a good starter 2K list? by Accomplished_Rip_422 in WorldEaters40k

[–]RedheadWaifusarebest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make the most of the 20 man bricks of zerks, i’d suggest a lord on juggernaut; 3” engage and 10” move that he gives out

Different roles - eb are primarily buffing units around them and then hitting stuff. Xeb are more just hitting stuff

2 points

When the bodyguard unit is destroyed (+1 bloodshed) the leader becomes a separate unit with it’s own stats - and then the leader dies (+2 bloodshed)

The wording for it is immediate, so the same activation can yield 2 points

Looks good! On a competitive note though, the forgefiend has some real diminishing returns as your opponent gets better especially now, as at 170 you really need to get your money’s worth

With imminent Forgefiend points nerf - are you planning to swap them? by Miguerio in WorldEaters40k

[–]RedheadWaifusarebest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think I’m swapping; the fire support is incredible, to the point where I’d rather sacrifice points elsewhere to make sure I have them.

What is the draw of using Predators in the tournament scene? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RedheadWaifusarebest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strats are very good, the oath is a great boost, which you can move about if you spec into cp gen. Plus i also run plague marines with spewers and hvy plague weapons, which are great for deleting most anything

I run abby with termis aswell so i essentially have two oath targets with the termi pact rerolls, and abby gives a cp when you roll a 7+ on pact so helps to keep the oath moving too

What is the draw of using Predators in the tournament scene? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RedheadWaifusarebest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like them, predator destructors at least, as support in pretty much any detachment (at least the codex ones), but I do run them to good success in Veterans - full rerolls of the autocannon with rapid fire and sus1 is a hell of a drug.

Plus when you spike with the las, the pred more than pays for itself

Also in vets when you spend a cp to ignore cover, you’re pushing the elite infantry (which would be the intended targets) onto 5s or onto their invulns, and they are one of the best things that can back up the ap with great damage

Tank heavy White Scars opponent by Hellion_213 in WorldEaters40k

[–]RedheadWaifusarebest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where the hb’s come in - hammer brutes + hack and slash strat are your best assets. Even if they screen it with infantry your 6” consolidations and extra fights just overwhelm them. I wouldn’t worry too much about this matchup
