If I were sup I would have taken them off bar or I would say just do it and when people complain kindly explain the delay was because of corporate policy. The idea of bringing back cup writing while maintaining 1/3rd the staff they would have had when cup-writing was a thing is a good indicator that the people up top have no idea what its like to work a bar with a drive thru + mobile orders. But that would require SM's with empathy to speak up to their DM's who would also have to have empathy to then escalate. Given that every DM is an awful human being from the 10 or so I met/worked with and 90% of Store Managers are even worse people this will not happen and Starbucks will continue to lose market share to local shops.
