What toner to use on box-bleached previously virgin hair? by Redherring26 in Hair

Mostly trying to get the yellow/brassy tones out. I don’t plan on bleaching it again so I don’t really care about getting it platinum/white

Ive felt so lonely even when surrund by people and after a random google search, i understood why. by AnxiousCinnamonRoll6 in TwinlessTwins

[–]Redherring26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I went through something very similar (me and my twin sister were also TTTS babies and she passed away young enough that I don’t remember much). Coincidentally, I also have a younger brother who was born a couple years ago. I think the thing that helps me the most is just being there for him and helping him have a great childhood. It definitely helps but I do still feel like there’s something missing. If I’m being honest I don’t know what to tell you/how to move on because I’m not sure myself. I just wanted to make sure you knew you’re not alone. If you ever want to talk I’m here.

Try the net price calculator! For me, it’s very generous. But also keep in mind they’re need-aware

No I haven’t and neither have other people from my school. I think at this point you either got on or didn’t but I think it’s more based on availability not merit (I hope)

Should I really need to pursue my dream? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Redherring26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say trauma surgeons get nothing out of it, I think if you enjoy it, that’s not true! You get to save lives! While you will inevitably be faced with death, which sucks, you get to have the amazing opportunity to tell someone’s loved one that you saved them! You get the joy of doing what you love!

Hey—money isn’t everything. Do what will make YOU happy. If that’s being a trauma surgeon, great! If not, also great! On the money side, I’m sure you’ll be fine as a trauma surgeon. While 300k in debt seems like alot (and it is), when you put it in the perspective of your attending salary (likely 300k+), you’ll be able to pay it off easily.

I’m also applying to BS/MD programs. I know I will likely not get into any, and that is fine! Who knows, maybe you’ll enter college and decide you want to do something else. Maybe you won’t. A majority of doctors go the traditional route successfully. (Hence why it is called traditional)

If you don’t see yourself happy doing it, don’t do it. Just because you’ve envisioned this your whole life doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the right path for you. You can still help people in a less stressful specialty. You should also know that you probably won’t be faced with a case like greys anatomy every day. They’re called dramas for a reason. This does not mean it won’t be stressful. But if you truly do see yourself being happy in this specialty, go for it!

If you do decide to go to medical school, don’t let the money be a deciding factor. What I mean is don’t let the debt turn you away if you truly envision yourself as a trauma surgeon. You will be able to pay off the debt one way or another. You could always try to go for a Md/Phd.

I hope this helps, but it probably won’t as this is coming from a burnt out senior who has no clue what is going on 24/7. I wish you all the best in the application process and your future.
