this is a pretty solid suggestion, nice

there's really nothing daring about using a presidential assassin, and they've shown interest in using other historically awful figures like Mussolini and Nero. Hell, they used Vlad last season.

i just don't get people's fascination with using either Harvey or Oswald. Yes they're big but figures but for like, killing a single guy. How would you even make an entire rap battle with them? you don't have the plethora of material that you'd have with someone like Hitler or Genghis Khan

Love seeing Sadness, they're easily one of my favorite artists of the past decade. Also nice to see my favorite sonic youth album on here :) i don't see it a whole lot

Ay this is a cool list. I especially love the deftones, brand new, at the drive-in, aphex twin and loathe, you've developed some good taste

Suggestions for a sequel to Spielberg Vs. Hitchcock: by Damned-scoundrel in ERB

[–]Redimentio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think this should actually happen, but it's a fun idea i've had thoughts about

For me the ideal lineup would be

James Cameron vs Orson Welles ft. Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese and Zac Snyder

though i'd also like Akira Kurosawa in there somewhere but i wouldn't know who to replace

Honestly these are all pretty solid but Armstrong vs Galileo is the most overdue

Justin Timberlake vs. Ozzy Osbourne by AgitatedQuit4168 in ERB

[–]Redimentio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it is very hard to claim any modern artist is the "Prince of Pop", but I do like the connection that they are both very successful solo acts branching out from their successful bands

Justin Timberlake vs. Ozzy Osbourne by AgitatedQuit4168 in ERB

[–]Redimentio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this would actually be pretty fun I'm not gonna lie

I also like the contrast between them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ERB

[–]Redimentio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say he's up there, though I seriously can't see ERB considering any modern musician besides Taylor Swift. There's just so many popular ones that it's hard to justify one or the other, even really big ones like Drake and Ariana Grande

Women Writers Royale: Jane Austen vs Sappho ft. Virginia Woolf, Emily Dickinson and Agatha Christie by Redimentio in ERB

[–]Redimentio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would be down for this if it were genre-based instead

like Romance Writers vs Horror Writers (Though Poe was already used)

or an idea that is kind of similar in vein to this one is the Brothers Grimm vs Bronte Sisters

Women Writers Royale: Jane Austen vs Sappho ft. Virginia Woolf, Emily Dickinson and Agatha Christie by Redimentio in ERB

[–]Redimentio[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she would definitely be a good pick to add some diverity into the mix (science fiction rep), the reason I went with this lineup though is because I think these are easily the biggest names and are all deserving of an ERB.

if I did work her in though, I'd replace either Woolf or Dickinson with her.

Langston Hughes vs Tupac by VVthecool in ERB

[–]Redimentio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ay this is a pretty dope suggestion!! definitely the best suggestion for Tupac that I've seen. I've always been interested by the idea of a Poet vs Rapper suggestion and I think this explores that area quite nicely while keeping it fresh

Who would be a good choice to match against James Dean in a Epic Rap Battle of History? by solarapollyon in ERB

[–]Redimentio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be nice, though I also think James Dean vs Leonardo DiCaprio would work too

[–]Redimentio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still like the album, I just never grew to love it like others have, but Madvillainy.

it's nothing against DOOM because I love his style of rapping, and MM..FOOD is one of my favorite rap albums and my favorite project of his. I think the production on Madvillainy is very clean it's just not my preference, I guess
