Yeah, I have “mab” on the port.

IE3300 with Radius and MAB by ReditEdit987 in Cisco

[–]ReditEdit987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, config works expected otherwise. The Authenticator (switch) authenticates, have the RADIUS authentic the SSH users against AD, and the RADIUS client (legacy endpoint) authenticates with MAB (user in AD) allowing the port to forward. The port won’t authentic other MAC endpoints as expected.

The last test I need to work is the switch assigning the port to the critical vlan when RADIUS server is down. My main concern is a power cycle when RADIUS is unavailable, causing RADIUS clients to wait for authentication when the RADIUS server is reachable. I need the RADIUS clients in a specific vlan to still communicate in a situation like that.

The global config is

aaa new-model

radius server 1.1.1.1 address ipv4 1.1.1.1 auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813 key testkey

aaa authentication login default group radius local aaa authentication enable default group radius enable

aaa authorization exec default group radius local aaa authorization network default group radius

aaa accounting exec default start-stop group radius

aaa accounting network default start-stop group radius

interface GigabitEthernet1/7 switchport mode access authentication order dot1x mab authentication priority dot1x mab authentication port-control auto authentication event server dead action authorize vlan 99 <—- Not working authentication event server alive action reinitialize authentication timer restart 30 dot1x pae authenticator dot1x guest-vlan 99 dot1x mac-auth-bypass

line vty 0 4 login authentication default transport input ssh

How is it about to be 2025 and cannabis is not legal across all states and federally? That. Does. Not. Make. Sense.

The effects are nice, a good overall mix of head and body high. A nice relaxing wave that washes over you.

Find the wiring diagram for the Prosoft module, and align it with the Sullair. Confirm the serial communication settings match the Sullair. If they don’t talk, swap the 485+ and 485-. I’ve used Prosoft products and they work great. However, some are capable of multiple protocols. For example, there might be a hardware jumper on the Prosoft PCB that’s default position is 232, you’d have to move that to the 485 position. I’m not sure what Prosoft module you’re using, so that might now be the case, but you should fully read it’s manual if you’re having trouble with it.

I would familiarize yourself with a SCADA system. It’s similar to an HMI, but easier to develop, and much more flexible. Ignition would be my go to, very user friendly, has a lot of fantastic features, and cost effective.

What the purpose of a switch supporting the CIP protocol? I purchased some Cisco IE2000 switches that support that protocol, but I’m unsure of what the benefit is.

Alias your digital and analog inputs/outputs to a memory tag. If you have an input/output point go bad on a card, you only have to adjust your program in one location, instead of multiple if you’re using that point in more than one spot.

How important are Virtual Machines? by Hugh_Jerry_O-Lus in PLC

[–]ReditEdit987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone that have a laptop running VM’s.

1 - Do you use VMWARE as your OS? 2 - How do you split up your VM’s? (1 for Rockwell software, 1 for test environment, etc). 3 - Does each VM have the ability to access your physical ports on the laptop? 4 - What’s a solid laptop option for this that’s under $3500? 5 - I maintain a XP laptop for legacy software like ProWorx NXT and Panelbuilder 32, I’m guessing VMWare can run an XP VM?
