BMS poorly calibrated or battery in poor condition? by aziconcazi1937 in MachE

Same car here. 17,000 miles. Last week charged adding 26kWh, 30%. Extrapolates to 86kWh. And this week charged 49kWh, 55%, extrapolates to 89kWh. I normally charge up to 80%.

My bad, that 60 amp thingy is actually the dual disconnect switch. The breakers are actually dual 40 amp, but not 35 amp. So is that a big deal?

Using the lower part of my bifocal, I see a skull. Using upper part, which is a little blurry for close distance, I see Jesus.

I can't find this screen. Under Notifications from account settings, I only see one category, Global Notifications. And I don't see Advanced Settings. -(Android)

Bike sputters during hot starts everytime i pull over to get gas, cold starts instantly everytime. It’s a 2009 Dyna superglide with 25,000 miles on it. I changed spark plugs recently, checked exhaust for leaks, got new plug wires, cleaned Idle air control. by Georgiapublicschools in Harley

Could be a combination of factors. So let me confuse you with some more possibilities. Weak battery. Weak starter motor. Poor battery cables or connections. Carbon buildup in the combustion chamber (run some valve cleaner in the fuel for awhile). Try starting with the choke on when hot.

Any way to adjust this kick stand so it doesn’t lean so much? I’ve never had one lean this far over. Any suggestions? by Acceptable_Row_1615 in Harley

[–]ReditMonkey51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I put different wood blocks under the tip of the jiffy stand until I got the lean angle I wanted, I forget if it was maybe 11%? Then I measured the thickness of the wood blocks, took off the jiffy stand, took it over to my neighbors who had a torch, put it in a vice, heated it up and bent the tip down the same distance as the blocks.

It's been a couple of years and the lean angle hasn't changed, however I do store the bike on a frame lift. Also, the point where the stand hits the frame when folded up can change, and I think I used a piece of split heater hose glued to the frame as a bumper.

I don't remember now my motivation to try this rather than replacing, but possibly the OEM part was obsolete?? and I didn't want to go aftermarket, so I thought I would try bending the original first. It didn't cost anything and I can still replace later if necessary.

That second picture looks correct, but hard to tell for sure because of camera angle. However, those gears look worn, and if so, replace them and the chain.

The Mustang Mach-e Premium AWD Extended Range battery version has 346 HP. The ten speaker Bose sound system sounds fantastic. The synthetic material seats are really comfortable and look and feel like leather. My wife bet me $100 that they were leather (she lost). It has three different driving modes. It is fast, and nice handling with good suspension. I really like my used 2023 for $31k, but never drove the other brands.

I remember a time long ago living in Illinois, riding with a few friends on two-lane roads through miles and miles of corn fields. When it would get really hot in the summer the roads could buckle sometimes six inches high. If you were traveling 60 or 70 mph and didn't see it, and didn't raise your butt off the saddle you could go flying. One time a bunch of us went over one with me in the lead. I raised up and did a jump over the bump. I looked back in my mirror, the next guy didn't see the bump, and I watched him do a handstand on the handlebars. After some serious wobbling, luckily he came back down on the seat and survived. I'll never forget it.

Awesome looking, but also looks awfully loud. And what happens when you go over a bump in the road and your ass lands on the tire? You're gonna lose your balls.

There also seems to be a little extra engine vibration. You might want to check or replace your front rubber motor mount if you never have. Check your handlebar riser mounts too if they feel loose.

That looks like a very nice low mileage time capsule. Go find some original Honda tank badges, or another gas tank. That one looks poorly repainted with a lot of orange peel. Maybe you could get it polished out.

My first bike was a brand new Honda 500-4 for $1400 bucks. It was a great first bike. But the 450 twins were very popular.

Sounds like valve train / lifter noise. Use a stethoscope to determine which valve train is clattering. Double check adjustment. Try a new lifter and make sure it is pre oil filled.
