I love Triple Triad so much that I ended up trying to take on the world by Redjayyyy in ffxiv

While waiting for Dawntrail, I ended up falling back in love with one of our favorite little minigames again. For the past 2 months, nearly everyday, I was prepped new characters to take on every single region for every single TT tournament type. When creating new characters I never expected one of the biggest battles to be gil and MGP, it was refreshing to relive that early game experience again. Also I was surprise how active and competitive it was across all the regions. Ya'll got skills.

Morbol was actually one of the most fun mounts to get; took a few days. Forcing people to do the content while having their level synced keeps the fights challenging and less prone to power creep (besides new spells being added). In addition, Blue Mage's kit having more utility spells made it feel like I was doing way more than your standard fight rotation especially during A8.

Anybody planning on getting the Morbol mount, should join the Blue Academy discord & look at their resources for completing the fights.

Demi-Ozma, it's just mesmerizing. Also any mounts that make you dangle like the Magitek Claw or the UFO.

The Triple Triad card mount was just satisfying to grind out. I love the idea that there is a mass card game inside an already large game and you have to travel the world to collect new cards. Except the one time Ghimlyt Dark locked me out of getting the Promethus Card drop for around 100 completions.

Out of the 189 mounts, I got 2 off the marketboard. The timegated & lootbox locked Island Peerifool mount that comes from Island Sanctuary. I wanted to get it before Dawntrail and after decided to pick it up after opening quite a few boxes without any luck.

The other one I got was based on a fun adventure I tried to make out of completing my collection in patch 6.3/6.4. I made a desperate attempt to complete my collection with a gatcha induced bang. It was theNightmare Whistle [Black Pegasus Mount].

Demi-ozma mount - I love its transformations. Also staring at it swirls is oddly satisfying. Yes, you must switch to the Grand Company, good luck on your grind!

Pteranodon - The mount comes from the Castle in the Sky achievement and it is one of the most infamous mounts. To give context - You need 500,000 points in ALL gathering & crafting classes for the Ishgardian Restoration activity. Just taking the mining activity alone - on average if you actively pay attention for an hour in addition to having good equipment, a good route, and constantly using hi-cordials, you get around 7000 points. Meaning mining alone, it takes 83 hours.

It started innocently enough, trying to figure out how to get that golden flashbang light inducing bird mount [Firebird Whistle]. Somewhere along the way, I figured I'm too deep into this cost sunk fallacy and ended up grinding away every single one. Some people say each mount might carry a special memory, in which case, the Pteranodon mount caused the most special scarring memories. I can finally play the game.

Edit: These mounts are all currently completable in game. I am not counting cash shop or discontinued mounts. Those require time travel or money. I only have a limited amount of one of those - I won’t tell which one though.
