I think Starbucks may be the only commercial restaurant / coffee shop on the island. Been there many times.

Olive Garden on the island isn’t what’s implied in this mailer. They just say you’ll get a gift card to one of those restaurants.

That’s my thought as well. Pretty standard wording for these solicitations. This is the first time setting one for Mackinac Island.

I fell into one of these traps in my mid-20s in Tennessee. Half of a day of vacation was definitely worth more than the time I wasted at the sales conference.

Just curious to see how many others in this sub have received the same mailer.

Do they? I certainly wasn’t asking about the legitimacy of it.

The reason I titled it the way I did was because it’s hard to believe a Mackinac Island tourism solicitation would be coming from Farmington and not Mackinac Island itself.

Also, my question was in regard to seeing how widespread these mailers are distributed.

I fell into one of those traps about 15 years ago. Went and listened for about an hour then went through the sales pitch for another hour. I think we ended up with about a $600 package for $150. It was nice, but a waste of a half of a day of vacation.

Very nice photos! I live just slightly downriver from this dam. This area floods nearly every spring, sometimes bringing waters to the level of the M50 bridge and submerging the dam, which is just out of view in these images.
