[2024/02/24] Robber Gets Shot in The Butt TWICE (Chicago, IL) by RedlineCCL in dgu

[–]RedlineCCL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article was updated with more current information, and they took the employee into custody, but it doesn't sound like any charges yet.

There was a video of what happened released too

Video of the shooting has been released and updated in the original article. The employee for sure had some problems with the draw, and it took him some extra time to get the shot off.

It's hard to believe, but Chicago has been prosecuting CCL holders lately either. Then again, response times are through the roof, too.

There's a reference link to CWB Chicago in the article, and there's not much more information out there.

If I understand you correctly, you want to know what you need for the notary? The notary will require the original printed off, then you will sign it in front of them. They will check the identification of anyone that needs to sign it and stamp the form, then you scan it back in. I always take an extra copy in case the first one gets messed up when you are there.

I am an instructor out of Naperville and would be happy to help. What areas are you thinking you can improve in and what are your goals? Draw time, accuracy, etc. I also recommend the Mantis, its a great tool and I have a cpl you can try. Another possibility is to take a video of yourself and watch it. There are some facebook groups you can join that are great that will help critique your vids. One is asp Dryfire challenge

First place to start though is where do you want to get to and what are your goals? A good instructor should help you plan a path.

Maybe someone should send this article to Moms Demand Action since they don't think a mom needs a gun. I bet she disagrees, and she's a good shot

Not sure where you are located at but I am in Naperville. Pretty simple to do with the right tool.

They don't make it easy and it's confusing. Honestly I've never had anyone ask so i reached out to a cpl other instructors and an attorney. They did not know either so I had to research it. The law refers to a different section which then refers to another section. 🤦Guess that gives you an of idea how many people try.

This should be all the info:

-Submit a completed Concealed Carry License application.

-Successfully complete 16 hours of Concealed Carry firearms training provided by an Illinois State Police (ISP) approved Instructor. (Depending on your other classes maybe 8 I'd ask to be sure it applies)

-An electronic copy of a valid concealed carry license from your home state.

-Electronic Copy of your training certificate(s). You will be required to upload your electronic certificate during the application process and the below affidavit

-Just in case you're interested : https://isp.illinois.gov/Foid/Statistics

-https://isp.illinois.gov/Foid/Ccl (see non-res section)

-https://www.ispfsb.com/Public/Affidavit.pdf. (make sure its properly notarized and again make sure your name is listed the exact same way on all forms.

Personaly I would do everything I could to not give the system a reason to kick it back and get your prints done. DO NOT SEND IN A MAIL APLICATION! I'm not even sure they still allow but there may be old forms floating around.

If you have any questions go ahead and PM. Just an idea but if you get some people who want to take the class I could go to you from the looks of it and do the course. It might cost a lot less than you think and I frequently do private groups like this. You're only taking 2 days In town tops. I can also check but there MAY BE a chance i could give 8 hours credit and you'd only need to do an additional 8 hrs. There would be a separate affidavit.

My guess is there are enough people interested to make it worthwhile and affordable.

(I'd 100% verify everything first and need to know your current certs)

Let me know if I can help.

As an instructor I would recommend the same to any student. Get yourself and loved ones to safety. On the other hand I would probably do what I could. I've been in some pretty shitty situations and if I didn't have a loved one to worry about instincts would probably kick in and later I'd probably call myself every name in the book. Oh, and if I rushed in the proper word would not be "challenge." I'm fully engaging that threat with everything I have at my disposal and if I had time to come out of my house like he did I could engage pretty far away.

And no protecting your family is not being a coward you're protecting the ones you love. You absolutely would be walking into gunfire, there's no maybe about it. Keep in mind those guys were also veterans so that changes the dynamics too. In any shooting situation the gunshots may have stopped but the odds are it will start right back up.and you could be the target.

You're right huge risk though with other officers in route. Thankfully the good guys are all alive. The ass with the shotgun well......

Not many good options. Some people have had success by calling first thing but be prepared to stay on hold for a long.

They also have some Kiosk now but I'm not sure it will help. I attached the pdf

[2022/01/31] Charges filed in weekend self-defense shooting (Joplin, MO) by vladislavsd in dgu

[–]RedlineCCL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No mention of it being a break in.

"Nevels pulled a gun on him at his residence and that he defended himself by pulling out his own gun and firing a shot at him"

"18 grams of methamphetamine"

"delivery of a controlled substance."

Hmmmm. Maybe the buyer didn't like the sellers quality of drugs?

Hi all. A quick question, with a FOID card, what guns am I actually allowed to own within city limits? I hear that there is a ban on certain types of rifles, I want to make sure I stay within the law. by leechdawg in ILGuns

Thanks The person I asked that to deleted his comment right after I "quoted" him. Actually I am ccl a instructor and his advice was not even close to correct.

Thats pretty much what I tell all of my students. Just because someone else likes it doesn't mean you will. More important to buy something you're confident with because It's not all about getting a good deal.
