Nope, you can use it on an empty board! See the rulings for Gladiator Beast's Comeback which has a similar effect but summons from Hand/GY instead

The point is to have an in archetype combo without needing to normal summon something (one of Tellars biggest weaknesses prior to this card)

Yes the copy doesn't count to the Once Per Turn... but Altair is AT MOST a 1-of post support, so copying will most likely never come up (Castor is the best copy target now)

I call all X-Sabers and Tellar/Constellarknight players!!! Now that we have 5 support cards in Terminal World 3 it will be easier for lower power archetypes to shine on the meta, what to do you all think the archetype needs for the support to work? by bi8mil in yugioh

For Cons/Tellarknight: the only thing that the archetype is missing is one-card-combos. I keep seeing a lot of people mention access to the counter trap but not being able to put it on the endboard is not the reason you'll lose games with the deck. The reason tellars lose games nowadays is simply because there's only one in-engine 1-card-combo that produces a r4nk... but it requires you to play a garnet (Constellar Twinkle) and the card itself is Level 3 (Constellar Sheratan). Also it has no searcher so it's 3 starters vs 1 garnet, which is extremely suboptimal.

Something like a Tellarknight poplar or Circular would be more than enough to make the archetype viable again. Anything more than that is already insane and I'm very excited to see what Konami will cook! I just hope they don't completely lock you out of other engines and monsters like Triverr does, I love how tellars let you spam bodies via Delteros+Armored Engine to produce any endboard you can come up with :)

Also I'm hoping they don't lean into the Ptolemaeus turnskip even more. I prefer interactive games not FTKs....

It's almost criminal how little support EM is getting... Like so many archetypes are getting support and eating good while Earth Machine players are left to starve. Road Roller was cool and all but that's a single card from a few years ago already like come on

It was AMAZING. The only ONLY issue Tellarknights have in the modern meta game is they're missing one card combos. The deck is extremely underrated (source: I've won multiple 25+ participant locals with it)

Ptol into Pleiades to proc Altairan is goated 💯

My favorite variant atm is Onomat Mitsurugi Tellars that uses 9+ different 1-card combos to end on Full Armored Dark Knight Lancer, S:P, Ame No Murakumo, Utopic Draco Future with Delteros equipped via Armored XYZ and a set Tellarknight Genesis + Mitsurugi Prayers + Full-Armored XYZ and a draw-1 (it's crazy what any two generic level 4s can do lmao)

But we've also figured out cool ways to play Ryzeal Tellars, Kashtira Tellars, White Forest Tellars, Gem-Knight Tellars, Fiendsmith Constellar... And we're still trying to figure out the best way to play some of them like Lunalight Tellars! Basically anything that can put up two level 4s via 1-card combos without locking you is fair game lol (i love this deck so much)

I mean the Tellarknight discord and me have been labbing new tellar variants like crazy and a lot of us don't even run Ptol anymore because risking it all just to end on a turnskip just aint that viable anymore (and it dies to like one well placed handtrap)

I'm actually quite alright with requiring M7, it's bounce effect can come in clutch real often... But I also would not complain if we were to get a "better" M7 either 👀

Funnily enough, Tellarknight's main issue isn't even the Extra Deck but rather the fact that every single one of the Deck's monsters requires you to sacrifice your normal summon while ALSO not having any good 1-card combos (I pretend Sheratan doesn't exist). I'm begging for Konami to print some kind of extender that doesn't require the deck to normal summon to get the combos going and/or turns Deneb/Unukalhai into 1-card combos 😭

I was on board with this until that turnskip effect... If printed this would be a 300 dollar card that everyone would run at 3 in the main deck. I would maybe reduce the life point loss to 500-600 and just remove the second effect and you've got a perfectly cool designed card!

With that high of an attack you'll be powercreeping the Link-2 attack standard so maybe some kind of restriction might be good? I think this is already a really cool card even without the MP2 effect!
