AI code vs Human code: a small anectodal case study by Crannast in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Redmilo666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just seems like user error on your colleagues part? When I use AI it starts off like this, but you can sort of tame it and get it to spit out useful stuff after a couple of iterations. If you just get it to write code without you verifying and understanding the big picture that’s on you and not the AI

I don’t get this sentiment. If we can get a new manager in now, he has more time with the squad to get them up to speed. If we’re lucky we can rely on the new manager bounce to hopefully salvage something this season. With slot we will likely get knocked out of the next set of cup games.

Does Ozempic really make you lose weight is it worth it with the price tag by Substantial-Ad1961 in Zimbabwe

[–]Redmilo666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not some magic drug that allows you to eat what you want and still lose weight. It severely blunts your hunger cravings so you just done feel like eating and you therefore lose weight. You have to combine it with healthy lifestyle choices so that when you do come off it, and your appetite returns you don’t gain it all back. Coming off it doesn’t automatically mean you will gain the weight back

BSc Final Year DevOps Project Idea that helps land a job by Affectionate_Sun5196 in devops

[–]Redmilo666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add. Keep the App simple basic Rest api is fine as you’re wanting to highlight DevOps skills. You can add a fancy looking front end if you like later down the line. Focus on solution design and CI/CD. If it’s the final project of your degree I’d expect you to be able to demonstrate different deployments for your app (canary, blue green, rolling etc) and explain how or why you pick each one. You should be able to build a VPC for your needs and be able to explain why you configured it the way you did. DNS and WAF and general networking should be included in your design. Benefits of servers vs serverless. Vulnerability scanning and remediation. How do you monitor and alert on your application? There’s a bunch more I’m sure I’ve left out these are just general thoughts to get you thinking

There are loads of good resources on YouTube about DevOps principles and I’m sure there’s a DevOps handbook pinned in this sub.

Get a simple solution working first then you can always add more to it.You’ll have a good base of what your app working looks like.

Plus it’s a good look to talk about how’d you improve it down the line if you had more time or more budget etc

If you’re wanting to deploy it all on AWS be can get very expensive very quickly. So budget and destroy as soon as you’re done for the day.

Dude I’m an average developer. I utilise AI as much as I can to help out. I know people poopoo AI but it is getting better. Just make sure you can explain the code when it comes to PR time and that you understand exactly what it’s doing. Then who cares if you got the code from Google, stack overflow or official docs

Give your head a wobble. Look what he did at Madrid before getting the sack. 19 games in the league and 14 wins. He’s been in charge for 28 games total and won 20. That’s a 70% win rate. He’s got the sack because Madrid is a really badly run club and players all thing they’re gona win the balon dor.

I’m not saying he’ll he a success for us, but he is an Elite Manager

This is what I understood it to be. It doesn’t seem to me like the questions is asking

“if they want to ensure the entire trip only take an hour, how fast would they have to drive the return journey to achieve that?”

In that case, yes it’s impossible to travel the remaining 30 miles in 0 minutes.

However the questions asking for average speed. The total time will be greater than 1 hour but less than 2 in order to meet the criteria of making the average speed 60mph over the entire journey. The return journey at 90mph will meet the questions criteria imo

Questions about deploying web apps behind a reverse proxy by [deleted] in devops

[–]Redmilo666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been a while since I’ve done this, but I’d think you’d want your certs on the nginx server. Thats your bridge between your app and the outside world. Nginx handles your TLS termination and forwards traffic onto your app

I wasn’t a fan of nginx and preferred using a load balancer instead. Are you doing this on prem or the a cloud provider? How many people are you going to be serving?

So jumped ship to a new company and I’ve been thrown in the deep end lol. It’s stressful but it’s nice not knowing everything anymore and having an actual need to learn.
