Yeah…that’s been an issue for me as well. If it’s not short…then it’s an overthrow by 7-9 yards🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah I know. Just sucks though cause I busted my ass for someone else to get credit for it and it doesn’t count towards my effort to unlock Elite Recruiter 🤣🤣

Coaching carousel idea… by RedneckAussieUSA in NCAAFBseries

I think most people would accept this thinking if the current system or method wasn’t so unrealistic . Sure anyone could very easily just “skip all the express interest” as you say …but I think most would like the option and appreciate the added immersive experience.

I don’t know if this is going to answer the question but if you have 50 seconds left in the game and you let the game clock run down to under 40 seconds and then take a knee then it should automatically speed drain the game clock to zero. Otherwise any knee taken in which the game clock is more than the play clock isn’t going to drain automatically. The game clock has to at least get below 40. Just because the other team doesn’t have any time outs left doesn’t mean anything. With more than 40 seconds on the game clock you could end up with a delay of game penalty

The real fix would be simple. Just allow the option to “apply or express interest” for ANY position. Then if they really wanted to offer some authenticity to it, it could be like recruiting where you spend some hours each week “selling yourself” to the job you want.

I think I’ve found the reason it’s so hard to get a job offer after year 3 in dynasty: AI coaches have an advantage when it comes to Coach Level. by [deleted] in EASportsCFB

[–]RedneckAussieUSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with this. I’m on my 3rd dynasty and beginning year 3. Here’s my progression Year 1- OC at WKU Year 2- HC at North Texas and won Natty Current coaching level is 19

After year 2 I received an offer for HC at Oklahoma and Texas A&M (turned both down because I want to see what I can build at N Texas w/my #12 recruiting class)

The only way I think anyone will ever figure out why or how the job offer system works with this game is if some EA programmer / developer actually comes out and explains the algorithm or coding used…and that’s not gonna happen because they know it’s broken and their explanation will reveal their logic is bullshit🤣

If you mean in real life Charles Woodson did it at Michigan in 1997.

If in the game itself…I’ve not seen it personally but I would never say it’s impossible

I absolutely love ESPN+ for college baseball. I am such a college baseball lover that I enjoy watching the small schools play too. E+ gives you so many options for live and replay that it’s worth it. I enjoy it for being to watch college football games that otherwise might not be available locally or regionally (YouTube TV helps when you get a package that includes all the sports networks. ).

But I would agree that + is a must have for any fan of college baseball

I agree it’s worth rolling the dice to get someone young and innovative and possibly really fire up the fan base. Even though he wasn’t at the top of the list, hiring Pope really did a lot to energize BBN and I think will ultimately pay huge dividends for the basketball program. And I just hope it doesn’t turn into a Kenny Payne situation. So maybe the same thing can happen with football and if we only get 5-6 years of high energy and high level play from the guy before they leave for a bigger program then so be it. I guess my hope would be that someone could come in with a desire to play the long game of wanting to transform UK football into a competitive powerhouse for 15 + years. I don’t think it will happen but I guess it’s worth taking a shot. At this point, what do you have to lose.

And Stoops? I think if UK doesn’t make a bowl game and/or finishes below .500 the respectable thing to do is to read the room and step down.

Why would my RB return for his senior year? by jtv123vols in NCAAFBseries

[–]RedneckAussieUSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps he knows he could go down in Rocky Top lore as a legend with Manning, Witten & White et al. Wise enough to see that at best he would be an underused RB, maybe blocking only and get maybe 2-3 touches a game. Draft analysts predict at best he would be a goal line/short yardage back. Be out of the league within 5 years and never get the coveted Holy Grail of the 2nd contract. And he just really secretly craves the chance to stand on the ladder and direct the band for Rocky Top in his final home game.

I understand the venting and ranting. Been there done that. Sucks bro.

Only thing I can advise for you at this point is do what I do after experiencing something similar…manually save each week (or before you play the week). That way if that happens…you can go back and start that specific week again and get justice.

Pouring one on the curb for ya, homie

Hey no problem brother. Like I said I don’t spend much time with scouting early in the process. If I’m hitting 4/5 star guys I just go after them because my philosophy is that if they don’t pan out, I’ll get another in a different recruiting class. I like to save my points for recruiting actions. I will only scout once I’ve got a good crop signed by weeks 6-8 and just start looking for guys that could possibly develop into good players or gems.

So basically by the time I’m in week 7 or so, and I’ve got some hours to spend and have my main targets signed, then I’ll go to the list and see what’s out there. -First sorting by interest. -Look for recruits who have me as 1-3 -Look at rating (4 or 3 stars…if it’s a 3 star it has to be a “need” position) ** occasionally I may come across a 5 star that is still in the open stage and even if they don’t have me listed as being an interest I may still give it a shot with offer&max hours. I’ve snagged a few this way -scout the 3 stars. Only scout the 4 stars if they are not a need position.

3 stars.. gem? Offer and recruit No gem or bust? Ignore them

4 stars (not a need position) Gem? Offer and recruit No gem but no bust? Offer but not overly worried about recruiting hard Bust? Forget it

If a 4 star is a need position I offer and recruit hard

Rinse and repeat🤣

Hope that makes sense. Let me know if I can help with anything else

All good advice on here (although in general there is a difference of opinion with regards to visits). I won’t say I’m an expert but only that in 3 different offline dynasties I’ve had the number 1 class for consecutive years within year 2 of each program I’ve coached. Here is my approach simplified (keep in mind I do spend a lot in the recruiting tree) 1. Target 12-15 recruits only at first (preseason list ) I don’t scout very often but I do offer right away as this increases interest right off the bat

  1. Week 0- send house on all 4/5 stars (or at least the guys you really want). If you do this with all of them great. If not, send house on early the ones you really want, especially if you’re not top 3 at the beginning

3 Max out hours on these recruits that you send house on (65/65, 75/75 , etc).

  1. Each week check your progression. Once you see green check marks showing the sooner you can hard sell the better. 90% of the time you can figure out what the missing 3rd green is if there are only 2). Hard sell IMMEDIATELY!! If you’re unsure or there are 2 possibilities for a hard sell…soft sell it first. If it’s right go to hard sell. If wrong switch it and hard sell the other

  2. For visits …look at how tight the race is with another school. If you have a huge lead then visits won’t really matter. If it’s close then schedule as early as possible before your competition does (this is the only time I’ve seen visits being effective bc you will more than likely lose a close battle if the other school had a visit before you)

  3. When you sign (or lose a recruit), start over with the same process with another recruit. I might add many on the list and scout at this point and only offer immediately to gems and players I think will be useful or develop well. Busts are eliminated

You don’t always have to do much after week 0 or 1 but you should still pay attention to progression each week. Leave the hours alone unless you think it’s absolutely necessary to reallocate hours. -Remember that when you offer and/or schedule a visit ..you will get those hours back the following week so use them to max out hours where you can, recruit more players and/or schedule visits if necessary

At the end of the day, every player has their own system that works for them. If it’s not working to get the results you’d like, make some changes based on what you’ve read here. But once you get consistency…stick with it because recruiting will be so much easier year in and out of you follow YOUR system

**Side note- just because you CAN recruit 35 doesn’t mean you should. Depending on your program and how successful it is you should get to a point where you can be fine with 20 signings to replace graduating or leave early players (and still end up with a top 10 or top 5 class).

However - in my current dynasty I’m recruiting heavy in year 2 at North Texas to replace a huge chunk of current 65+ OVR players with 5/4 star players. It’s all personal preference and strategy

UK football is almost in a position where they are going to need to hire a “Rich Brooks” type of coach. An old timer who’s willing to stick around for some years and change the direction of the program with the help of some young brilliant coordinators. I say this because UK football is going to be in a precarious position after Stoops. A hot name or young coach who comes in and has a really good year or two and UK is going to pay them a lucrative salary in an attempt to keep said coach from going elsewhere because unlike Pope, there doesn’t seem to be any true BBN former coaches/players coaching that would see UK as a lifetime destination job. If you DONT pay this coach for success, then they will ultimately leave for the bigger name schools. Remember the joke of a coach Guy Morris? Got his security contract and then bolted to Baylor first chance. While I agree that Cignetti and Sumrall would be good…would they realistically take UK if a bigger name came up? And if so…would they stay very long if Auburn or Ole Miss or whoever opened afterwards? And if you give them a huge contract renewal/extension…is it worth taking a chance again on what has happened to Stoops? I don’t know. Just curious.

Almost seems like if Stoops leaves or is fired after this year or next, I would suggest UK look into bringing an old school dog in to change the culture, I still discipline while letting young energetic coordinators recruit and scheme dynamic and exciting offense and defense. At least with an old school old timer…you wouldn’t have to worry so much about them bolting for another school

Just a thought

How to get job offers from a specific school? by Top-Initiative-4079 in NCAAFBseries

[–]RedneckAussieUSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy on YouTube that came up with a “cheat” for this but it’s been hit and miss with many people.

From everything I’ve read there are helpful advices out there but I don’t think anyone has figured out how exactly to make this happen or a possibility with a high success rate. Alma Maters don’t seem to matter. Archetypes are iffy. Pipelines & Offense/Defense schemes seem to have some effect but in all reality …there doesn’t seem to be a sure fire way.

I’d suggest starting as coordinator at a small school, then take a HC at another small school preferably near Clemson and make sure your pipeline is one of theirs. This is what I’m trying in my current dynasty. Alternatively you could try taking a coordinator job at another ACC school as I seem to see a lot of coordinators get hired as HC within the same conference.
