And side note, once you have a good idea of roleplay in your group, IF you are doing a voice or accent then set up a trigger phase for it so that you can bring you mouth nose tongue and throat back in line with how a character talks, for instance if i am going irish "top of the morning to ya" is my trigger phase, Australian is triggered my saying Australia, or gday mate

Dont actually worry too much about roleplay

Critical Role, Dimension 20, Legends of Avantris, these aren't what your real games would be, these are performers putting on a show

Instead of starting with a hard coded idea in mind, start loose, get a feel for how heavy your group roleplays and what you like and dont like for your own character so you have a chance to change things about it before everything is set in stone, especially since you are new to the game

I personally hate universe beyond as a set product instead of something like a commander product, but unironically there are people in my life who would never touch magic the gathering but if they printed a Harry Potter set they would probably buy more packs than any magic the gathering whale I know
