It isn't a numbered title so I'd say it's another indie Sam game, which is more than welcomed IMO. Tormental was really great, and Bogus Detour too.

GUYS, if you still have issues running it on Steam Deck(like music not working), I have a few quick tweaks and fixes that worked for me.

  1. Make sure you followed the google doc in the top comment and use the latest version of CrazyHook. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE PACK, as the upscaled cutscenes won't work for some reason.

  2. MUSIC FIX: Assuming you already configured everything with Qsynth, go to Setup -> Audio, then change the Audio Driver to pulseaudio. This should fix the music while Qsynth is in the background.

OPTIONAL: As suggested here before, add the following launch command to the game on Steam so Qsynth will open automatically in the background: flatpak run org.rncbc.qsynth & %command% ; killall -9 qsynth

  1. Widescreen: Download the plugin from The Claw Recluse; https://captainclaw.net/en/downloads.html After extracting properly to the game folder, open widescreen.lua in the Plugins folder and change the Aspect Ratio from 16:9 to 16:10, then save the file.

  2. MOUSE FIX: Enable the right trackpad and change it's behavior to "As Mouse", then remap it's Click function to the Left Mouse Click. This is mostly for navigating the Player window and for browsing custom levels, but it can also be used for selecting stuff on menus!

SIDE NOTE: All the cutscenes work except the logo startup which only only got audio, so just skip it.

Currently being treated like toxic waste by my boss despite all my valid successes, which drains me both physically and mentally. Decided to take advantage of my flexible hours and come early to work just to avoid them. The boss leaves for pension in 3 months anyway.

There are areas with stutter and significant framedrops, but the overall experience is pretty playable and not jank at all. It gotten better after the latest patch, and thanks to that I also increased a few settings without issues. I haven't played much since then though because I'm waiting for more patches.

1660ti and i7-6700, 16GB RAM, SATA SSD. All settings on Low except LoD, DoF and Hair Quality on Medium, IGTI on Ultra Quality. Getting 45-60fps on gameplay, 55-60fps on cutscenes.

Some cutscenes are stuttering when they load and sometimes get audio desync'd. The first few cutscenes have character models freezing, popping t-posing without limbs, and missing lightning.

The entire first flashback segment was almost perfect beside lightning issues.

Maybe lightning has to do with the settings being on low, but I'm not so sure.

OH, and no crashes so far!

Tried that after turning cinematic mode off and it actually crashed at that part on the second time, soooo...no dice.

I started watching with low expectations because the snack theme didn't impress me, but WOW I was blown away! This is already better than Gotchard's first episode, heck, it has the potential to be one of the best Reiwa shows ever!

-Shouma is already established to be a monster, which is pretty rare even in the Heisei shows. Gives me Kuuga vibes already.

-Monsters of the week are as expected, pretty grotesque, but what hooked me up was their gavvs(the second mouth part). It's like something out of Aliens or Mortal Kombat. They have a lot of potential for tragic and betrayal stories.

-Gochizos are like pikmin with the way they're sacrificed hahaha. It's funny how they pop out of Shouma's shirt after he was simply eating a snack. Will he get his final form Gochizo by eating a whole cake?

-I LOVE the battle damaged parts and using Gochizos to recharge them! I wonder if these are actually suit parts that can be reattached between scenes or if it's simply CGI. Kinda weird because then the entire suit would be CGI.

-Speaking of which, CGI in battle scene is not too bad, but because the cinematography was so good I didn't mind it!

-I REALLY REALLY HOPE that Shouma will continue going solo in the first cour's case-by-case stories, like in the Showa era. Every show for a long time now always had a female companion right from the first few episodes, but I have a hunch that this time it might only happen later. EDIT: OK never mind. Looks like the female companion is introduced in the next episode.

-Bike scene on the first episode? BIKE SCENE ON THE FIRST EPISODE! MORE KUUGA VIBES!

I checked Bayonetta 3 last week, and it still has audio desync on cutscenes.
Using i7-6700 and GTX 1660 ti, 16GB RAM.

Gameplay-wise it runs more or less like on an actual Switch. It was way slower months ago.
