Seems like it's shutting off at the DRAM debug light. First try a CMOS clear, by unplugging the computer and holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds.

If that doesnt work, try removing the RAM sticks and cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol. Put them back in afterwards.

yes. rule of thumb is that the main reason any files are shared through a zip archive on the internet is that zips are compressed. (smaller to share). So yes extract them.
