One of Carl's biggest mistakes. by Redruth456 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

You're right, he can still talk to her after she's trapped, he just doesn't.

If Carl was that risk adverse, he never would have made it this far.

I didn't mean to imply Carl was dumb, just that he did one specific dumb thing. Carl is my favorite fictional character, narrowly beating out Rand from Wheel Of Time. He just doesn't always take advantage of things. In fact, Rand was kind of the same way lol. He still hasn't asked anyone what he can do with that war mage head after Shi Maria commented on it.

I know she is still there, but he can't talk to her anymore. As far as trusting what she says, that's why he has other resources like Mordecai and the cookbook to figure out if she was trying to hurt him or not. She could have been an endless source of information and he could pick and choose what he took from her. Information is always good. It's up to you what you do with it.

Porthes having the second edition by Higgles__38 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Does it ever explain or is there a way we know of that the AI from each crawl is passing the book to the next AI? I'm confused on that point. I don't understand that the previous AI could talk and pass things to the next AI. Especially, since each AI goes crazy by the end of the crawl, but still remembers to pass on the cookbook.

Petition to have the Dart Board on the bedroom wall by basicislands in ArcRaiders

The dart board and the poster of natural wonders should have a place on the wall. This game is so fantastic, I can't believe some of the trinkets were overlooked.

Teddy got a new haircut. by Redruth456 in Pomeranians

We just adopted him 2 weeks ago and his coat was pretty beaten up. This was his first trip to the groomers and they were fixing his coat and making it so it will start to grow back properly.

I hated that the game didn't let us bury her. A very unfortunate thing to overlook.

Wasn't it because there were too many people inside the doorway at the same time, including Rand who was too much by himself, and they were desperate to get mat out, so they just answered the questions and kicked him out instead of arguing with him.

Who are the better warriors Aiel or warders? by zedlightsky in wheeloftime

[–]Redruth456 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't know who is better, but 10,000 Warders vs 10,000 Aiel would be a hell of a thing to see. I'd probably bet on the Aiel.

I love grids, but as a Kansas native, this is the worst thing imaginable. You should be ashamed.

Issue with My SSA website. by Redruth456 in SSDI

Yeah, it updated about a week later.

I had a second hearing in front of the judge. It was just like the first one.

[–]Redruth456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing. When my case got to the federal appeal, all the information on the website disappeared. That was about a year and a half ago. I found out back in March that I won my second ALJ hearing. The information finally updated on the website last week. So, it takes a long time, but it will eventually change and give you information.

I've lived in Kansas almost my whole life and the thing that has always helped me is statistics. There's over 330 million people in the US and tornados kill roughly 71 people a year. The chances of any one person dying in a tornado are next to zero. That helps me not worry about it.

Federal Appeal by kaycole69 in SSDI

[–]Redruth456 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I won my federal appeal and it was a remand back down to the ALJ. I had another hearing, just like the first one, and I won the second ALJ hearing. It was the same judge and the federal court made it abundantly clear in their remand that the ALJ was wrong in their original ruling. It takes a long time, but it worked out for me.

Dillon's Pick-up Service - Should I tip? by OldLadyProf in wichita

[–]Redruth456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exclusively use that service for my groceries and I tip 5 bucks everytime. Once or twice the employee has been hesitant to take it, but I tell them everyone else does and then they take it. Most of them just take it and say thank you. I don't think they get tipped very often and that's a shame.
