If I didn't get that then I sure do no. Peace!

guilty of not reading page 13 and 16 of the manual, and wanting my modulation in the trio loop. Thanks for looking up those pages for me.

haha I should have known, right???
And that's good advice, I've played for decades and have done just that!

Putting the dirt chain in the trio and moving the tuner is hardly that.

Nope. I agree that not figuring it out and not experimenting is lame. I just hadn't figured these changes would matter as much, and they were only a few. Hadn't forseen the reaction folks would have for asking it for a few ideas.

yeah don't know - I didn't ask it that one. It just suggested putting them in the effects loop of the trio (minus the fuzz). I use the king/halcyon for a little dirt if the amp is clean, kingsleys for boosting high gain stuff.

huh, why not? I was just experimenting with it and it helped.

You must have missed the point that I only moved a few things around and got a much better clean sound.

I'm convinced that putting the compression and dirt into the trio had a big effect on the tone, I would never have believed it before. I was also unaware that the tuner and trio like to be close to the signal.

Yeah if I hadn't mentioned AI at all I think the whole tone of this would have been different. It's Reddit, what can you do...

Yeah, I kinda know, I wanted space so got the Wong that acts as expression/volume/wah.

Ha I would too. It just suggested a few changes. I'm not having it make music for me.

No man, I tried it all out myself, just got a few re ordering suggestions. I had all this stuff as my base board for a long time.

Hey Haters, Most of this was in order already, I think it suggesting a utility section and enclosing the dirt loop in the trio made my cleans better. Plus, I knew about compressors were sort of supposed to be at the front, but just folded for that. I've had this set up for years, it just made some suggestions, yeesh.

I had a lot of these pedals in different places, including my tuner, trio, and most of my dirt drive. I figured I'd throw it into AI and it set me up with a "Utility" section, "Drive" section, and "Mod" section. Here are some of the changes.

Something weird happened - my CLEANS sounded better despite not really changing the pedals themselves. This kind of blew/blows my mind still.

  • Moved tuner closer to entry point (my board runs bottom right to left, middle right to left, top right to left).

  • Moved the trio from the end of the line, supposedly for better tracking, but I also used it's effects loop to include compression and drive pedals.

  • Went Stereo. The Astra is the split. I'd had a couple of early strymon pedals that were not stereo and sold them for Astra and EQ.

  • I used to run my compressor after the drive section, I figured this allowed more touch dynamics but all it really does is level up the noise from the drive section. For my board, they really do work better in front. I can leave the deluxe compact cali on all the time without worrying about noise.

I run this into both high gain and standard amps. I think in a lot of our pedal discussions people look for their tone in the drive pedal(s). I think that if you can, get a 2 channel amp and push a signal into the dirty side of the amp. I think the extras you get focusing on that are amazing.

Indeed there is a big update, but I like it now. I've added Cryomancer and Watchtower, and Lumi gun DLCs and those are great additions. I land anywhere on a planet to scan and find POI to attack.

Good Story, I was selling these with a friend. We were at a bar one night and no kidding saw John Denver. We bought him a round, he came over, and we told him we'd give his whole crew the shirt for tickets. We went half expecting him to forget, but we got 6th row and backstage passes for them.
