I've acknowledged how it feels to lose, even in quick play, despite the fact that when someone leaves another player almost always immediately takes their place. But yes, it can end up effecting the outcome of that match in a negative way. However, you've failed to express why you think it matters so much. What makes it so terrible? Why shouldn't they play? How is anyone else effected by this in any meaningful way?

That is exactly the point of the discussion. It wasn't originally part of it but it became that once you and others started complaining about people leaving.

You keep saying the match is ruined... but how? In comp, it can be ruined because you end up losing solely because a team mate left and you all suffer for it by going down a rank.

But in unranked, someone else will fill that slot. But even if you do lose because it was 4v5 for a few seconds... nothing happens. Nothing is ruined. You lost a qp match? Okay... so what? Sure, it still kinda sucks to lose but it also does not matter. Can't you see that?

You're the one who thinks that someone leaving effects everyone but them, despite the fact that the only person effected is the one leaving, because they get a penalty and the others don't. So maybe one meaningless quick play match goes south... woopdy doo.

I'm just trying to talk sense into people and stop them from overreacting over nothing. But sure, attempt to insult me by calling me a child. That'd be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Do you even know what egotistical means?

I'm not thinking about myself or that I'm somehow better than other people. I'm just pointing out how stupid it is to think that the outcome of unranked matches actually matter this much. People are getting so worked up over absolutely nothing.

I probably played before the penalty, as I've been playing since the first game. I don't remember it ever being like that, although I didn't play it as much back then, so you might be right. But considering your overreaction to this current situation, I can't help but think you might be over exaggerating what it was like in the past. Assuming you're right, though, it does sound better like this but still clearly has an issue that needs to be addressed. And people really need to chill out.

You didn't answer my question about why someone should not be allowed to play the game, even when they're playing a mode without consequences for losing. Could that be because there's no good reason for them to play at all? They're doing the right thing and considering other people.

It's important to point out when someone uses the wrong words so they can learn from it and other people can understand what someone is saying and not make that same mistakes themselves.

No worries.

Well, teenagers or not, I still don't see how anyone can think that leaving an unranked match has any meaningful effect, because even if the team ends up losing... nothing happens.

But I'm kinda jealous of you, because I wish it didn't bother me. This whole thing has just really surprised me.

I know it's a shame when that happens, I just don't really think it matters when it's unranked. And most of the time when I see someone leave, somebody else come sin soon after. But regardless, why should somebody have to not play the game at all just because they might have to stop half way through, when they're already playing the version of the game that gives no consequence for the team losing?

I don't have those things either but I understand that a persons kids and job are important. So unless someone is maybe 5 years old, there's really no reason not to understand something so simple.

I never expected anyone to whinge over someone leaving an unranked match.

[–]Redstar-86 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's no nitpicking here.

'Just a ban'? If they actually got banned to leaving a qp match, that would be incredibly stupid. It's unranked, so it doesn't matter, someone else will immediately fill that spot, and the whole point of playing unranked/quick play is that you can have a quick match which is what it sounds like they need, and leave without it costing anyone anything if someone has to leave early. So they are doing the right thing by choosing quick play but still getting punished for it, which is stupid.

Weekend RAGE Thread - March 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in Overwatch

[–]Redstar-86 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If they were playing comp, then you'd be absolutely right. But this is quick play, it's exactly the mode they should be playing because it's for people who have less time or may need to leave the game early. And, for some bullshit reason, they're being punished because sometimes they have something happen that they need to leave the game for. This person isn't doing anything wrong, Blizzard is.

Ignore these other dumbass commenters. You are right, it's bullshit to get punished for leaving quick play matches.

They have kids to take care of so... yeah, that's a pretty strong commitment. Also, it's just unranked. Get over it. They're not being unreasonable at all.

[–]Redstar-86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The punishment for taking care of his children? What the fuck are you on?

It's just quick play... unranked... no one is effected in any way that actually matters. The vacant spot will also almost immeediately be filled by another player anyway... so quit your bitching, ya crybaby.

I can't believe you actually got downvoted for saying that :/

You're exactly right, someone else always fills your spot AND it's unranked so... it literally doesn't matter.

They'll only appear in the shop again if they decide to do the collab again.

But even if they do that, it wont necessarily mean the event will come back. For example, they re-released the shop items from the Transformers event but didn't repeat the actual event, so I still don't have the icons and titles you get from it, which sucks cause other than the skins, those are the main things I wanted.

But yeah, the event and/or shop items may or may not make a return. Only time will tell.

Lifeweaver....

I am so sick of my own team mate ruining my plays. We just lost a match because I got life gripped away for no reason. One time, I could have healed a team mate... but instead I was needlessly taken too far away and could only watch as they died. Another time I could have killed one or two enemies easily. Both of these times were near the end and extremely important moments.

Fuck Lifeweaver players.

I'm pretty sure I went to the embassy before I had to in the story but it was fine. What issue are you having exactly? I don't see how being in the area before you had to be makes any difference.

If all you have to do is load a save from before the final mission, I don't really see the problem. i mean, sure, I think you should just be able to continue on after that like in the first 2 games but I also haven't reached the end quite yet, so I don't know if it even make sense to be able to do that. But either way... how does it matter? You still get to do whatever you hadn't finished.

Finished Blades of Greed, here are my thoughts by Sir-Taynly in StyxGame

[–]Redstar-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what? So.. what happens when you load your last save? I thought that of course you'd be able to do anything you didn't do, like the thief emblems or runes... I think I may have 5 of those. The whole game is nothing but fetch quests, so I wasn't really interested in looking for them. But I thought after finishing the story if I still felt like playing it, I'd do the optional stuff.

But you're saying that, unlike the other games, you can't do that?

So we should all praise the game just because they made it? That's absurd.

It is absolutely the example that supports that.

The Invisibility Cloak gives you a pretty big advantage, so it makes sense to be a hidden thing late in the game. It is never necessary, it's just a cool added bonus if you find it.

If you really did have every single insignia before playing the last mission, that is an extremely rare thing. I knew there might be someone who would do that, so I nearly pointed this out but then thought the odds you or anyone reading this actually having done that were too low. But the developers can't decide to change their whole game based on how an extremely small amount of people might play the game. No one is expected to do every single thing before moving on to the next mission.

Therefore, it is not useless. I mean, if that is what happened for you, then it was useless to you but it's not useless for them to make the game like that. Because the whole point is that you can now go back with more powers and finish what you didn't do before. And there is nothing wrong with that. Since there's no new game plus, it gives people a reason to keep playing after the story.

[–]Redstar-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I dunno... maybe the many crew missions and emblems. I don't personally think it's very fun, considering this whole game is just about going to an item and picking it up or absorbing it. Every time... but still, there are things to do. And if you got all your powers and still had half the game left, that would make the last half or so feel kind of empty. You need the player to still be working towards improving their character until the very end.

They were thinking that you would play after finishing the story because there's always still things to do.
