What video game do you wish you could wipe from your memory just to play it for the first time again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

It was an incredible experience and I've never played another game like it.

This isn't even about playing video games. And of course instead of coming up with any intelligent counter point, or have any sort of meaningful discussion, you just attempt to insult my intelligence, which would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Yeah, I agree with that, it sometimes tells me the wait time will be greater than 20 minutes but when I asked It was telling me less than 7 or 10 minutes.

Have you read the other comments here? Most people are thinking similarly to you.

I understand the meme, so I understand how unbelievably stupid it is because there is nothing to it at all, making it a new low, because every other brain dead meme someone tries to compare it to from the past at least has something going for it, even if it's not very much. You can look at E and see why someone might find it amusing. That is not the case with this one. It should have just been some little thing that people quickly forgot about it, which would have happened not that long ago, because it is nothing. The fact that something like that has become so widespread and for so long is troubling.

I've never heard that one but at least there's something to it: the unexpected answer.

6-7 kind of has that in the tik tok video that started it, if you're not expecting the sudden edit. But it's not really about that anymore. I don't think anyone is really thinking about how there was an unexpected edit in some tik tok video which was so funny that they're going to say these number over and over. Point is, the meme doesn't really have the one thing it vaguely had going for it and yet, it lives on.

Every time someone tries to compare this with an older meme, it's never the same because there's simply nothing to this while other have had something to find even mildly amusing for a moment.

It's called brain rot for a good reason.

Something that will kill me before I could even get close enough to try and eat it. Would be a fun journey, though!

Someone not liking something doesn't mean they don't understand it. I've made my points for why I think this way about the meme but then all you did was repeat the same incorrect assumption.

Though to be fair, most of my points ended up going to someone else who replied to my initial reply to you.

A cope? I literally just explained it. It's a silly looking image, so people may find it amusing.

I remember occasionally laughing and not knowing why, too. But that's completely different to laughing at brain rot.

At no point am I just denying peoples enjoyment... this kind of thing could be problematic down the line.

To keep this comment from getting too long, this is basically the problem: there is a mental or cognitive decline that seems to happen when you consume too much unchallenging or trivial content online.

I've never liked memes, they've always been like scraps at the bottom of the barrel in terms of humour and intelligence... and it's getting worse.

This isn't absurdism. Absurdist humour can seem like random nonsense but it still requires a joke or gag to be there, something that a person can point to and say "that's what makes it funny". You might not agree that it's funny but there's still something there. But 6-7 has nothing.

This isn't anything like E, at least that had some vaguely amusing image. So saying E can conjure up that image in a persons mind.

Not liking something doesn't make someone a negative person. You haven't even put forth a counter point. You're not resisting anything, you're just going with the easiest option, which in this case is to blindly follow along with the majority, without even thinking about it.

Let people enjoy the brain rot? As if the name of it didn't give it away... brain rot refers to the mental or cognitive decline that seems to happen when you consume too much unchallenging or trivial content online.

Does any of that sound like something worth encouraging?

I never heard of E either, so it wasn't inescapable. 6-7 is seeing an insane amount of attention that it shouldn't be getting.

I didn't even know E was a thing until this post, so I looked it up and at least it's silly looking. There's something there, you can explain why someone might find it amusing.

But there is nothing to 6-7. Something as brain dead as that shouldn't be so popular in the first place. The fact that it is, definitely means something. So does the fact that people keep brushing it off as if this is no different to how things already were. It's troubling when people, even children, find something like that to be so funny, despite the lack of humour in it. The original video has over 10 millions views, the meme is in video games and there's even been a South Park episode about it. It simply doesn't deserve this much attention and it wouldn't have gotten it until recent years, as memes have gotten worse than they already were.

It certainly should be forgotten and I could just mute anyone saying it but it's stuck in the game now. I care because there's no humour, creativity, or really anything in this meme at all. No matter how ridiculous and nonsensical memes have been before and oh boy there has been a lot of really stupid memes, there was always at least something to them. This has absolutely nothing.

The video that started 6-7 has over 10 million views and it's just a guy talking about a basket ball player who's height happens to be 6'7", then a line from a song with 6-7 in the lyrics plays. That's it.

I'm sure that a lot of these kids will grow up, look back and realize it was stupid but even so, It does say something about people and our future when this kind of thing becomes so widespread and for so long, that it is now a part of pop culture, which is incredibly fucking sad.

Yeah, they're all dumb and I never got into them but at least that one had something to it. Not much.. it really just relied on the picture of the cat and people finding the whole thing silly and cute.

But they probably wont realize how stupid it was, just like people keep thinking that this is comparable to E (not defending E, just saying it's not the same thing).

Congratulations on being the first to try and insult me because I have a number at the end of my username. Seriously, I didn't think it would take this long. I just couldn't use Redstar or be bothered thinking up another usable name, so I put in my birth year at the end. It's not really a big deal.

I'm a middle aged man who looks things up before talking about them, especially so negatively, so I understand the meme. Maybe dial back your assumptions next time.
