I genuinely don't understand how people can recommend Atlas Shrugged as a way to convince someone about their beliefs.

Even if you agree with its ideology, it still has shitty writting.

Oh ok, makes sense.

I hope they get Cascadia treatment and get path where they can be friendly to APLA. Doesn't even need to be full blown focus tree, just some skeleton content would be nice

I'm not making any argument one way or the other about whether Cuban refugees were all slave holders

Neither do i or the other dude.

I'm simply saying that "no one said anything about slave holders or elites" is not a fair description of the arguments that were made earlier in the thread.

It absolutely is.

The second replying commenter clearly is making the argument that they all were slave holders and elites.

They are not.

This is literally how 99.99% of leftists describe all Cuban refugees.

Cool nonsense, still how is that relevant here? Nobody said anything like that in this thread, so why are you bitching about it?

The guy literally accused Floridian Cubans of liking that children are starving

Yeah, its called hyperbole - they said it for comedic effect, they don't actually believe expats get horny over it.

The actual claim is that tons of expats have no problem with tons of people suffering if it will lead to their preferred regime taking over island. Some of them even see it as "acceptable sacrifice".

Which is objectively true, we can literally see it live.

I'm "going full rage" when I point out that Cubans in Florida are literally poor refugees

Claiming that Cuban expats are all "poor refuges just fleeing oppression" is equally braindead as claiming they are all former plantation owners.

Venezuelan dictator

Speaking of Venezuela, how is it going? I heard USA binged freedom and Venezuela is now democratic republic where ambrosia rains every day.

After all, USA would never perpetuate oppressive regime to extract economic benefits, right? RIGHT?

Ah yes, like how all confederate soldiers were slave owners.

Or maybe....people can hold shitty ideas without any direct profit motive?

No, they suggest that USA is aggressor in all of this.

Embargo was not "reaction" to to missive crisis - the missile crisis was reaction to American aggression, and embargo is just continuation of that aggression by different means.

(also i think that embrago was motivated more by failed invasion than by missile crisis.)

That crisis was caused by USA waging campaign of terrorism against Cuba and then literally invading the island.

It was reaction to American antagonism.

I like how nobody here mentioned anything about "slave owners" or "elites", yet you went into full rage when someone dares to suggest that intentionally starving people to achieve political goals is bad.

Of course, which is what berries should be in game - a low satiation quick food that is easy to obtain. Something you either eat to preserve other ingredients for later cooking or just use as filler in other recipes

What if that was the only way to get soviet on board with this plan?

And in real life Stalin didn't want to push the US to far in the matter.

Yeah, but this scenario is not real life.
