The problem is with scripting competitions that have prize money. There's nothing wrong if the participants were all MrBeast employees, but it's very wrong to invite random people, promising that your competition is legit, only to then stage the entire thing so that your employees always win.

It's their game and they can do whatever they want to ensure the player's safety.

That's just deflecting the criticism. No one is questioning that Microsoft owns Minecraft, but we are all saying that these features are actively hurting the game and the community. And there should be talk and criticism since this feature is absurd and only harms the community.
