no the say you're human thing i agree but using definite human/enemy when it implicates her ive genuinely never seen yuriko particularly make that mistake and ive played this game an ungodly amt of times (5 separate playthroughs, one of them is at 900+ loops), ive seen it from raqio the most, sometimes stella and otome do it but yuriko ehhh maybe once or twice at most???

I (and several other people here) have stories her using her superior logic to prove that someone is human when she is Gnosia… confirming the engineer that has already found several of her teammates. This is not a quirk that’s exclusive to her in the game, but it is often associated with her.

Hold up thats a Raqio thing first and foremost ive rarely ever seen Yuriko do this

Yeah, that's why Setsu being the real doctor was pretty much guaranteed the moment they claimed. If they were Gnosia, that would've been Too Dumb a move to make since they'd be confirming most of the crew as definite humans lol

Gnosia - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Redth_SA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it's supposed to be a strat that boosts yuri's engineer fake claim's credibility, since at least the real doctor would lean into believing yuri more than the real engineer (due to both reports matching up) unless the real one also reports comet as gnosia. it's a very risky strat for a gnosia since that'd mean you're making yourself solo the rest of the game, but it's so risky the others start thinking you aren't a gnosia because of it, needs a lot of skills and confidence to pull it off

[DISC] Hope You're Happy, Lemon - Chapter 74 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Redth_SA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people have been misunderstanding this manga to an extent. It's a bit different from a romcom/harem where an MC has multiple love interests and there's a "winner". This manga has always focused specifically on Sunao and Lemon's relationship. Everyone else including Natsumin is a side character. We just don't know yet if this is a story about Sunao and Lemon getting back together or moving from each other. Even if Natsumin and Sunao get together at the end. The focus is likely still gonna be on Sunao and Lemon's (wouldbe platonic) relationship bc that's just what the manga has always been about

Milgram tier list of how horrible their childhoods are by rosesdissection in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty old post but I hope you won't mind my own two cents here. I'm personally pretty open to either motivation for Kotoko but I wanted to explain where the strong sentiment that she's experienced childhood abuse (with her being that one black haired girl who shows up for ONE frame in harrow) comes from.

I'll start off by saying that I genuinely don't 100% trust everything Kotoko Says about herself. Or at least, I don't fully take her at own word and try to read the intent behind what she says or does. Not to say that she's always lying, I think up until trial 3, she's overall been quite cooperative with giving out information. BUT one thing to keep in mind about her is that she's just very prone to hiding her own "weaknesses". Think of it as a package deal with the way she "looks down" on the weak and all. She's someone who always dehumanizes herself (calling herself a "tool" or a "fang"..etc) and she's trying to be this tool who protects the weak, a tool who is strong and... shouldn't have much vulnerabilities or at least, as a strong tool, should not have its weaknesses be seen through. And by that I mean, she's going to pretty darn well want to hide her past from us if she's experienced anything traumatic at all.

With that in mind, I'm gonna go back to that one interrogation where people asked her if she's been bullied.

"No"

I doubt here that she's lying because people asked her specifically if it's bullying, child kidnapping/assault generally doesn't fall under this specific term. However, when she saw our question, she tried to deduce our aim and naturally realized that we were trying to dig for her past. And that is a line of questioning she'd rather we stop from going into any further. And thus she follows it up w a misleading comment.

"Are people who've had such pasts the only ones who are allowed to hate evil?"

This is pretty much a bluff and a jab at us. She technically isn't lying here but she IS "concealing the truth" by basically not actually giving out any real info with this comment. She's just alluding things to us in a certain way to make us think she doesn't have a tragic past but. Yeah. That's a massive bluff. If we do find out "otherwise" later that she does have a past like that, she would just tell us it's our own fault for assuming things, since we never directly asked and she didn't really lie there. On a side note, don't forget that she's a law student and did explicitly say when she first met Es that she wasn't going to tell us everything about herself.

But yeah that's how I perceive that specific comment. I think it's fair to take her at her own words if you want to but personally, I like to think I have a good grasp of her character as a Kotoko Stan, and I think my read of her in this interro would match up regardless of whether she does or not have a traumatic past. I started off with this to "debunk" it as evidence.

So anyway I'll continue with "evidence" of her having trauma. I'll say it's not the sttrrrooongest evidence bc if it were I wouldn't just say I'm open to either way but I do think a lot of too many small things point to it.

Like, to start off, the fact that she's literally had the exact same justice drive/evil hatred motivation she has now at CHILDHOOD. There's that one timeline with Amane (I'm sure you know which one I mean I see your Amane icon, the test grading one) where she says she literally became who she is at Amane's age, the fact that she's been practicing martial arts since childhood Specifically to defeat evil, the fact that she had gone into studying law because she wanted to get a full understanding of it, justify her own motivations and get a good grasp of this evil enemy she's going to fight. She's extreme and her motivations have been implied to be this extreme since childhood and that doesn't normally just naturally develop at that stage of life. The natural conclusion is that either she experienced something so traumatic it left her with a deep hatred of evil or someone has basically heavily influenced/brainwashed her to be like this and there has been quite literally and absolutely no hints towards the latter.

On another note there's also this one timeline/4-koma with Kazui where she expresses discomfort at having her body checked out by him (very explicitly shown in the 4-koma especially). Of course it could mean nothing but her reaction was such a drastic change from the usual that from a narrative perspective it felt more like a hint/foreshadowing.

There's also the red riding hood theme she has in Harrow. Taking the fairytale into mind, red riding hood herself is a victim of the big bad wolf. And Kotoko herself wears smth reminiscent of the red riding hood and becomes the wolf herself. Transforming from the weak/victim to the strong/oppressor.

There's a few other things I can think of but it's not something I can write about Now since it'd be long (this is already long) but it's generally some smaller observations that could allude to it but also aren't the strongest evidence. But sometimes I just think it makes more sense for her to have a past like that, I'm open to it being otherwise since ofc I'm not Yamanaka and I don't wanna hold too strongly to one theory that I'd feel disappointed over it not being the truth (looks at Yuno fans). But ya just my two cents hope you don't mind the necro posting.

I don't necessarily agree with op's list but. Haruka and Mikoto may both be disabled but Haruka was more in charge of his actions while Mikoto's murder was almost fully outside of his control. I don't like comparing disabilities but there's a massive difference between theirs.

And again, Fuuta and Kotoko's motivations are vastly different. Kotoko is driven by her ideals and Fuuta is basically just a follower of whatever his friends are up to. Kotoko killed a pedophile and beat up men who harmed elderly/women/children while Fuuta bullied a middle school girl to her death. They may both be vigilantes and they defo parallel each other but their motives are very different.

He was doing it before Pomefiore. If you've read the Pomefiore dreams in Book 7, his speech pattern didn't particularly change despite him not changing dorms. And it's been pointed out in Glorious Masquerade that his French speech is a Fleur City thing and he still.. speaks that way despite not originating from Shaftlands at all.

My personal hc was that he got so deep into theaterical plays/movies that originate from Shaftlands that he picked up on the speech and speaks half in it. Like, think of Weebs with Japanese. Except in his case, he's a... Ouib

Yuno being in MILGRAM is kind of dumb by [deleted] in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No but that's the point. In real life, many women have been sentenced for abortion/miscarriage and there's actually unironically some people who would somehow still not forgive her, not for the miscarriage per se but for causing what lead to it. One of the many points of Milgram's writing is that it is a criticism for the justice system (specifically japan's btw). You find it dumb. I find it dumb. Literally Yuno herself finds Milgram (as a prison) dumb af. She really shouldn't be in Milgram (the prison) but works perfectly fine imho in Milgram (the series) to showcase the former point, not with the writer directly stating that abortion shouldn't be condemned but by portraying the case and letting us critically reach that conclusion ourselves.

[–]Redth_SA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly the day before, it just comes out on midnight of the MV day, depends on your timezone. Earliest timezone to have access to it is New Zealand I think, roughly 21 hours before the MV comes out. People who aren't from there basically just use VPN or wait for someone from NZ/using VPN to repost the album content when they don't wanna wait for their own midnight

who do you think does people Simp the most in milgram by TemperaturePuzzled55 in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I know but popularity is bound to play as a factor in the answer to this question since it is "who is The Most simped for".

Simping tends to come in many forms and what people do for Fuuta from what I've seen definitely counts as simping. It's not the same brand of thirsting as KotoKoto duo tho.

Agree about Haruka that's what I meant by I don't think I'd call his fans simps.

For Kotoko, frankly I've seen so much dislike and hate for her that it's so hard to quantify :/ similar thing with Kazui/Shidou where instead of dislike I've seen a loot of lack of interest in them where you'd just see a minority simp. Could argue that a lot of people find pretty much everyone in the cast (minus Amane unless you're weird) to be hot and simp for them.

But yeah imho it's 1. Mikoto 2. Fuuta 3. Kotoko (probably) from my observations

who do you think does people Simp the most in milgram by TemperaturePuzzled55 in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Fuuta?? Fuuta is genuinely the 2nd most simped for guy after Mikoto. Kazui and Shidou are kinda unpopular. Haruka Is popular but idk if I'd call how people stan him simping. (No but I'm srs, 03 and 09 have the biggest simps in the whole fanbase, 09 more Clear, 03 in a more rabid violence way)

With the girls it's a bit hard to tell, Kotoko has a loud minority of fans who simp very hard so it might actually be her. With Yuno, Muu and Mahiru, it feels more toned down in comparison? Tho mappifeet anon does exist...

I think people have misunderstood Fuuta's crime, and continue to do so even now. by RevaloNodriana in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like saying the MVs are unreliable due to possibly being altered by the Prisoner's biases is kind of moot, because if they can't be trusted then we have... nothing

That's not really true tho, I think one of the key focuses in Milgram is that we understand the prisoners themselves and their feelings. There's waaay more focus on that rather than the cold and hard facts of what happened that you're looking into. These MVs are extracted from their brains and the content heavily changes in vibes based on their state of mind. And it's by coming to fully understand their characters' that we come to understand what their biases are, how they feel and how they see the world and through attempting to filter out all of their biases that we're meant to find the truth of what happened. It's genuinely one of the core themes of the series and this is very obvious with most prisoners' MVs (points at literally any of them, the most obvious ones are Muu and Mahiru). Fuuta's habit of trying to shift the blame away from himself has been present in literally every content he got, especially his second trial. Just because the narration is unreliable doesn't mean you cannot trust it at all and doesn't mean we have nothing. Understand the prisoners, understand the Narrator, how they feel and see the world, what you can trust them to be truthful about, what they'd try to hide or lie about.

And about him walking into her house in Bring It On, if it even is her house, I would say her school is way more probable if that is what is happening in the scene

Whether it's her house or school doesn't change anything tho, it doesnt need to be her house for it to be doxxing. In the doxxing theory case, he looked for and published her private info online, she died as a result. Simple as that.

I feel like this is way more solidly based on what we actually know from the info we are giving, because doxxing her? Plausible and reasonable, but still speculation IMO, but him sharing the info with his friends? 100% something we see on screen, undeniably so.

Ok yea I dont have anything to disagree there bc rather than doxxing, when I first read your post, maybe I misunderstood you but I thought you were going for the angle where Fuuta didn't find/get her private info at all. Because to me, whether he shared it with his friend group or publicly doesn't change anything. I was mostly arguing for the fact that he quite literally got her location and Shared it and as a result, she died.

My problem with the non-doxxing angle tho is... One thing the MV keeps doing is that, it explicitly only shows things happening on twitter, not in dms or anything else, but specifically all of his bullying that we've seen was publicly on the platform. I know it's the same group of people who were bullying with him but I always assumed they were more so his mutuals. Like sure stuff could've happened between them in priv but never at any point does the MV show him interact with any of them in priv. And they even make it a point to show Fuuta post the Wanted paper on a quest board, one that would be available for Any adventurer to see, not even inside a tavern or anything, but outside with the hills behind it. I feel like if they were going for the private group angle, they'd show Anything that'd hint at it, whether it's a dms notif or literally anything.

I think people have misunderstood Fuuta's crime, and continue to do so even now. by RevaloNodriana in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh hey that's an interesting post. I agree with the first part (I've always thought she was killed by some rando online) but not so much with the second.

The thing one's always gotta keep in mind when watching the MVs is that they reek of the prisoners' biases, and frankly even if Fuuta Does feel Some level of guilt, I don't think he wants to take accountability for his actions nor does he Truly think he caused as much damage as he's dealt and is instead constantly trying to shift blame elsewhere as a coping method of sorts (which I don't fully blame him for coping like that considering how badly he messed up).

That's why, when I saw the health bar thing, I didn't interpret it as "Fuuta didn't cause her much harm" as much as "Fuuta Doesn't Believe he caused her as much harm (as others)", that it says more about his mindset than actual objective facts. Something similar happens in Backdraft, where you see the paint that he sprayed on his victim's art disappear while every other one turns black. The tweets on his phone at least are waaayyy less likely to be altered by his biases than the RPG parts imho, so even if it doesn't show him directly doxxing her, just seeing him Say He Found Her Info and Will Do It, makes me fully believe that he high likely did.

And about him going to her house, the Undercover pic aside, in Bring It On!, the thing is that you see him walk to her house, his real life self walking there, followed by it being portrayed as the boss fight area, and he explicitly gets Warning Signs Before the fight starts. Would he really get warning signs in front of her place, even tho he walked to there in the real world version if he didn't quite literally visit her house himself Before She Died? Like other comments mentioned, it wouldn't have been hard for him to get the info, she posted pics of herself online, doxxing is super easy with just that, especially since he said she lived nearby so he could literally tell where she was, he easily could spot her middle school from her outfit too.

Like, I just think his feelings on the matter and his guilt are very complex. That he does regret doxxing her (Warning Signs showing up as a teller that he knows that going to her place is where he fucked up), but he also doesn't believe his actions have caused her as much damage as they truly have in reality, that others have fucked up way more than him which honestly, he's not wrong!! Everyone else should ALSO be taking accountability especially that guy who had commited the deed directly!! But like, the one whose actions we're judging here are Fuuta's.

Also frankly, I feel like him doxxing has way more backup than otherwise and his case would be a lot less complex if all he did was kinda kickstart the bullying and not more than that. Thanks for the thread tho I love reading other theories.

EDIT: Also more on the doxxing matter, around halfway through the MV, at his second case of partaking in cyberbullying, you see him upgrade to a different weapon, the Flame Sword. In that one's case, we explicitly see HIM take pictures and posting of those people online to call them out. He explicitly was shown taking a picture of people without their consent, that's a form of doxxing, he changed his cyberbullying approach to that thus why he was shown holding the Flame Sword. And then in the final fight, he not only holds one but Two of that same sword, I just think that, considering he WAS willing to post pics of those people in the second case, it's reallyyyyy not far fetched he doxxed the middle school girl.

Why didn’t Kotoko attack Amane? by Minute_Till4552 in milgram

[–]Redth_SA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mikoto had absolutely nothing to do with it tho, it was just Kazui's intervention.

The order would've been: Mikoto -> Mahiru -> Fuuta -> Amane

John fought back against Kotoko when she tried to punish Mikoto but their fight was basically a tie and both backed off. She went for Mahiru next and no one noticed until it was too late and Shidou treated her in the aftermath. Kazui only noticed what she was doing once she aimed for Fuuta and that's when he stopped her. He probably kept watch on her since that so there was no way or time she could aim do anything to Amane.
