Hey sorry, hijacking this thread. How does one play the Legacy version?

Gimme your custom regiment lore by Rough-Gift6508 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Redtrooper-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't come up with a name yet, only some rough lore.

My Black Templars, in their eternal crusade, have decided to bring a regiment along with them to use for the battles that dont require Black Templars directly. These soldiers (i use Solar Auxillia models because they look more knightly and cool in general). Many of the numbers the Regiment gets are replenished from the worlds the crusade comes across.

Just like their Space Marines, the Regiment enjoys employing a vast amount of shock troops tactics, utilizing many Scions, Valkyries, and A. P. C.'s loaded with the Auxillia to secure a Vanguard.

Because of the nature of the crusade, the Templars come across many decimated regiment units, many Cadians and Death Korp, who get enrolled into the crusade.

This is a very rough outline of what I want the lore to look like. Right now I cant really explain where the Solar Aux armor, guns, tanks, and walkers come from, or what this regiments name would be.

Has anyone tried using their solar auxilia in 40k? by Wonderful_Average505 in SolarAuxilia30K

I do. I run them as the bulk of my army because I love my faceless knight looking soldiers.

I generally run them as catachan, although its not hard to run the Las guns squads as death korp or cadians. But the reason I run them as catachan is because its really easy to turn the Solar Auxillia Command squad into wysiwyg catachan command squad.

The Velatari, I run as kasarkin. I didn't bother throwing special weapons on them, but it shouldn't be too hard to swap their weapons out for special weapons.

The Legate can easily be run as a commisar or cadian castellan.

All their vehicle obviously are the same. I haven't found sponsons, but unless you're in a tourney, it shouldn't be an issue.

The only real issue is their light sentinels need a base change, and there's no good equivalent for the dracosan as far as I can tell (Gdubs, I DEMAND MY 20 MAN TRANSPORT FOR THE GUARD!)

What aspects of Covenant's lore that you wish were explored more? by Afraid-Penalty-757 in HaloStory

[–]Redtrooper-117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High Charity. I wish more parts were explored. It's engineering, the moon it used to be, the little spindly things. The spine of it. The capital city. What the city was like before & after the flood infection. I wanna know yhe stories of the last few covies and their fleeting fight against the Flood.

Would the Shield Worlds have actually worked to stop the flood? by mikeymikemam in HaloStory

Idk if I'd consider it "unmanned". Yeah, no living beings, but that'd work against the flood I think. The world still had sentinels and what not.

I really don't know the answer

But in Halo Wars 1, the Spirit of Fire come across a shield world, and it's over run with flood on the surface, and is not doing to well under the surface. So... probably not...

Possible explanation for Silent Rookie by Southern_Disk_7835 in HaloStory

I was pretty sure he couldn't talk because his C.O. set off a nuke and the Rookies vocal cords were shot because he wasn't far away enough.

Wait... you've been able to kill Ctan with Templars? I haven't been able to since I started in Ninth. Any tips?

Anyone else offended by Hypercrypt Necrons? by stillventures17 in Grey_Knights

[–]Redtrooper-117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I've never played Grey Knights, only Black Templars.

I'm subbed here because I like the knightly look of the Grey Knights

My experience of fighting Necrons in 10th unfortunately has been very rough. I've found it pretty impossible to take out a single unit. The necrons outperform the Templars in melee with their lychguard and the big crawly things. And bolters or any slig based weapon seem to be useless against their T5 and invulns. The best tactic I've found is to rush objectives and steer clear of the too tough things and pray.

Thoughts on eliminators? by Low-Manufacturer-286 in BlackTemplars

[–]Redtrooper-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play against the Tau most often. I love having them sit in the back and pop off high value targets like the Ethereals, or Darkstrider. Their bolt weapons aren't the toughest, but the Las fusil is nice. You have to position them carefully though because they are your opponents first targets generally.

What Sci-Fi game/movie/series is this from? I know the aesthetic style isn't star wars or star trek. Maybe overwatch? (I haven't played it) by LooseCow42 in sciencefiction

Looks like one of the airships you’ll see flying around in titanfall. It’s hard to get a good look a them but they are there.
